My god, that tidbit about the boots–once I got zippers back in 2019, I never looked back LOL. I do not miss those days of trying to pull them on and off…

On the topic of Isabelle Werth… interesting choice of music with Beethoven and Puccini! I’d want to pick her brain further as a classical musician myself haha.

Did anyone else catch the tidbit about the DJ and how he worked with the riders to make the best selections for their horses for the GP and GP Special? Thought that was pretty interesting. And the fact he did it in Rio too! Makes for an interesting resume

I cannot believe the musical selections were random. Isabelle must have chosen that music!

It just occurred to me that times aren’t posted yet because they still have the 2nd horse inspection. Times should be posted after that, which is happening at 9:30 EST. Guess I’ll just be waking up at 4:30 to see the order of go!

They were allowed to supply their own music.

Anyone know the brand of Charlotte’s helmet? It was so unique. I love her even more after reading that interview, @skydy

He’s my boyfriend. :star_struck:

Interesting that Steffan Peters removed his helmet during the German national anthem.

I think it was a custom Charles Owen Halo: https://www.charlesowen.com/products/halo

I believe it is already morning in Japan. They are probably doing the trot up now.

Cool! And it’s MIPS!

this is a standard sign of respect during any anthem, own or foreign. Shand respectfully, gentlemen remove hats.

I remember Usain Bolt stopping a live interview when USA anthem played. He turned and faced the flags respectfully, then resumed when over.

Yeah I just got this advertised on my social feed today… it looks sick. Super stoked CO released this since so far they seem to be the only thing to fit my head, and I’ve been eyeing MIPS for awhile now.

I have a couple years left in my current CO but then that’s absolutely what I’m getting next. Wish they’d do a black on black tho for those of us who want to be more conservative in the hunters.

There’s one that looks like that.

According to a post on the MIPS Facebook group, they do make a black on black model, and Fair Hill Saddlery even has it in stock.

I just watched the special. I love the special and riders and horses did not dissappoint! SOOOOO happy for Sabine Schutt-Kerry who I met several times back at Houston shows when she was the rider for Proud Meadows Fresians and an “entertainment” rider at big shows. She is such a kind person (I have issues with the owners, one of whom was my vet, but alas). She is such a beautiful and tactful rider.

I’m also SOOOOOOO happy for Germany, who is just magic. I LOVE that they’ve adopted a longer rein ride. And I’ve loved Isabell Werth since the 1990s. 6 Gold Olympic medals!! I’m also so happy Charlotte and Carl are on the podium and I can’t wait to see Charlotte’s horse in the future.

that was a great Special!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Oh well, she’s doing what is best for the horse.

Did I say Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo??? I’m so sad for her. She put in really great tests and her training and riding created such a great partnership. Noooooooooooooo!!!

Pretty sure that Charles Owen sent the new Halo helmets to a lot of the teams. The Halo and Luna are new models, still kind of hard to find here in the US based on my recent searching! Several of the US eventing riders posted about them when they received them (Boyd for sure did).
