Dutch harness horse drama. Update major mare/ foal neglect Nov 2023 post 1782 Update Kate Shearer responds post 1930 Nov 25/23

I posted an answer to both of you.

Ah. I missed this post earlier. One cannot be scheduled to write bar exams in the New Year and also already be a lawyer. This kind of blatant misrepresentation is a hug red flag. If someone will lie about something this obviously able to be checked, I would not trust much that they say.

Perhaps stop.

There are still serious issues here. The best people left years ago.

Funny, I was not expecting an alter with this thread!

Who has “alter” on your bingo card???

Please raise your hand!!! :raising_hand_woman: :raising_hand_woman::raising_hand_woman:

I thought this, but then looked back at the posting history and it seems like a very different back story. An interesting back story but different.

No dog in this fight (and no doubt I will regret commenting … ) but she could be studying, for example, for the Florida bar which always seemed (in the old days at least) very restrictive with its own criteria. The point was they had their own criteria in order to keep all those old retired lawyer snowbirds from the north from practicing in Florida. She could be a lawyer but licensed in another state. I doubt for example Florida accepts the UBE because of that but I could be wrong. I only say that as I had no idea they now have the universal bar exam (UBE) until she noted it.

And regardless if she was using the term inaccurately (that is she has a JD but is not licensed) she was referring to her legal training in the context that it would inform her of her liability.

I will only state I will not argue this point with anyone–as I could be wrong-I will admit up front (to save time :)) -just pointing out something.

The UBE was first offered in 2012 when I took it. Only a few states had adopted it at the time (I want to say like 12). And Arizona was one of them. There was no other bar to take at that point. Now 36 states have adopted it, Florida not being one of them. Regardless my scores have expired so I have to take my mpre as well again. It’s not a problem and Florida is very different law so yes I will be studying for the July exam after winter circuit,

But alas I was sleeping when all the above was going on. Going into 12 straight work weeks of mass chaos for my team I’m using every second I have to enjoy napping and relaxing with my animals.

As to things being set in stone forever on the internet that is fine. The amount of people that have personally reached out to me on here and Facebook about this post, many I’ve never talked to before, has been wonderful. People interested in mixing up breeding programs and stating how ridiculous some of the anonymous posters are on here. I hope you all enjoy the new year and keep doing you!

What’s an alter?

She indicated upthread that she was never admitted to practice in any jurisdiction because of a character and fitness issue that went unresolved. So she is not a “lawyer” yet. There are ethics rules about how you represent yourself when you are not admitted to practice. Even if all you’re trying to convey is that you know the law, it doesn’t justify you misrepresenting yourself as a barred practitioner when you’re not.

I wish her luck with the MPRE and bar exam. It’s hard to come back to that after a long break between law school and the exam and no legal experience in between. The passage rate under those circumstances is very very low. If it was me I’d maximize my changes by using BarBri/Themis and taking off work for a significant period of time to prepare. Passing the exam is a challenge when you are fresh out of law school, I can’t imagine trying to pass it without significant focus after a long break.

Actually the character and fitness issue was resolved five years later after my identity theft case finally
Made it through court. There’s video and explanation above. I just never got sworn in. I know that sounds ludicrous but I was already in the throes of a big business and I literally just never flew home to be sworn in. Many think that it was ridiculous of me, but it just was not important at that point in my life. The fight to get that far being an identity theft victim and the prolonged court case took my love for the law right out of me. Now I’ve been rejuvenated and am excited for the future. I have a great group of employees that will be able to handle the summer workload with just my direction and without me being there. And yes I already signed up for Barbri. But man it’s gotten expensive it was about $1200 back in the day and now close to $5k! Florida law is very different than Arizona so it will be a challenge but thus far I’ve been a good test taker and remarkable student so I’m not too worried.

I’m not sure what contribution you are making to this conversation? Other than to try to be a mean girl maybe? You aren’t commneting on any of the topics of discussion on here, except me. Just a little odd to me, but sure if that’s what you find enjoyment with please keep commenting. But it would be helpful if you had something beneficial to add to the conversation.

FWIW, and I will admit to a huge bias here, it’s also the type of schooling advocated by Littauer and Gordon Wright, detailed in Litteaur’s Commonsense Horsemanship and taught as the American Forward Riding system.

George Morris, Jane Marshall Dillon, Joe Fargis and Bernie Traurig are also proponents.

It’s also the basis of my early background teaching and training.

What are you on about? Can you point out the gender specific slur. I didn’t see one in the post you are referencing? It’s entirely possible that I’ve missed it.

I think she was referring to someone using the term
“mansplaining “

Ah, ok, I think she replied to the wrong poster then.

It looked like she replied to Warmblood1, but mvp said “Mansplaining” if that’s what was offensive.
