Very true. But then again I see a lot more with lots of scope that keep having misses just starting to quit. I mean back in the day the horse would get to the other side for the most part no matter what. But now its questionable sometimes. Maybe its just course design or the stress we put on to produce faster who really knows. But I feel like there used to be more “heart” in the horses if that makes sense.
Please stop… what? Posting? Serious issues would be telling others how to post or not to post at all… or interfering IRL.
Yeah, one of those “best people” was the one who called my BO to tell her to fire me… so you are right - she “left” years ago.
It is odd that posters who insist this is such an awful place and always has been will still post here… in this awful place… to let us know how dreadful it is and how terrible we are… lather, rinse, repeat.
Maybe that happens on other forums, but it does not happen here. Just made up a new one to double check and there was no way for me to get the forum to choose something for me. It insisted that I choose a user name.
Off to delete the experiment now!
Every KWPN horse goes back as a 3 year old to move from the foal book to the stud book. Not a huge thing if it’s a gelding, but still encouraged. There is nothing special about this request. It would behoove you to educate yourself about the KWPN processes and procedures because you continue to out yourself as a novice.
Shoot then maybe I just used my college username. I apologize for stating the wrong thing. My username is the same as it was for ASU. lol
Thank you for your comment, but no I was told to bring her back at 3 to change her from tuigpaard to hunter type which you can actually do with tuigpaards. I’m sorry if I did not explain that clearly enough for you.
You can only change the stud book direction if one parent is in the stud book you’re changing to.
I looked at your pictures. It’s interesting to me that you think those horses are hunters. How much time do you actually spend at the ring (not braiding) at AA horse shows? Because those aren’t hunters. I have never had a trainer, or an amateur client, say dang, I really wish I could have a clunkier heavier warmblood like what we got when we first started importing them! Only make it move like a cart horse! I also think selling a foal from this kid of experimental breeding for $28,000 is about double what you can expect, but hey, whatever you think the market will bear!
Is it correct that the Sic foal was your only first premium and the other 5 you took were second premiums? Bart and Arie look at A LOT of horses and in general I trust their opinions. If that is the case, that should be a wake up call to your program that something needs to change.
Ma’am I am just giving you the information that was given to me at the keuring. I’m sorry if you disagree with it. And no, with tuigpaard you can move direction at 3. You can email drew at kwpn if you would like to find out more about that. And yes, Simba was first premium. The others were deemed small as most of my 2022 foal crop was late in the year. I learned a ton at my first keuring as 2020 and 2021 were cancelled and 2022 was my first year to go. Thank you for your information though, and I will double check, but I was told very clearly that tuigpaard are the only ones that can actually change direction at 3. Which I intend to do so. And I would not say that I am breeding heavy and clunky, but if that is what you see then that is your opinion. Have a great new year.
I didn’t even know I had a pinterest! LOL. I will go try to figure that out.
Let me find the cards. I know that I saved them somewhere. The comment across the board was small in stature. But other information about shoulders and movement were great. And the full tuigpaard I was told to bring back and change the type. I’m in the middle of some business right now but I can find all the cards for you and post them.
Inspectors who look at as many foals, and horses in general, as Bart and Arie do, can see past size and age when evaluating conformation and movement. I hope that you took their feedback to heart when planning matings. Both their direction/pairings and the number of them.
I’m just going to be real blunt here and say that unfortunately we have all seen far too many examples of flavor of the month type breeders who don’t sell their newfangled products like they think they will, and the horses are the ones who suffer when a backlog of available product develops.
Jill Burnell, Anne Shumate, etc. etc.
Thank you CuriosiJorge but actually most of my foals are sold in utero. And actually no that was a common comment amongst all the keurings that they mentioned small size. Many of the people at multiple keurings actually received the same commentary. They liked the big and bold this keuring, which is completely fine. As you said its only one day in time. I’m just relaying the information from my keuring, as well as others, to you. You can take it as you want. But alas you have your opinion and your knowledge, even if that knowledge of changing breeding direction of tuigpaard is incorrect. As I said I wish you well and congrats on your keuring victories in the past.
I’m sorry, but many of these posts cross the line between discussion and sales. It’s against forum rules to promote your business and/or make sales. That needs to end asap. I would recommend deleting those posts and photos that promote your business. They will likely start getting flagged if not. Just a PSA.
OMG I just cannot win here. People want to see what I am producing so I post. Now you are saying I cannot post pictures. I’m not selling anything on here to any of these people believe me. This has been the most backwards forwards upside down forum to follow lol
FWIW, I don’t see your posts as advertising. You haven’t listed prices or ads but have just posted photos of your horses.
Publicly presenting yourself as a lawyer when you are not is considered a pretty high breach of ethics in the law field. Being a lawyer means you have gone through all the hoops and are registered and up to date with a bar association. Obviously just shitposting online and calling yourself a lawyer to intimidate people you are squabbling with is not something the Bar Associations bother with, it’s not at the level of advertising yourself as a lawyer or taking money for your legal services, or trying to represent someone in court,
But it’s still a big breech of ethics in your chosen profession,
I know practicing lawyers IRL and I have see posting on COTH by lawyers. I have also seen a lot of posting by “law adjacent” people who aren’t lawyers but like to toss around words they’ve picked up. In general the lawyers are very circumspect, and they never ever run around using their professional status as a weapon.
So while these false claims of being a lawyer are very minor perhaps in comparison to all the other red flags, it’s the kind of bad judgement dishonesty that makes me doubt every other claim made by a person.
@scribbler why don’t you just drop it and actually join in on the productive conversation that is going on. Instead you really just want to keep beating a dead horse lol. I hope we’ve met in real life for you to have this much of a hatred for me because if not it seems a little crazy
I’m not sure where pointing out ethical breaches and untruths in the online presence of someone trying to make a name in the horse world constitutes “hatred” or has to be personal. It could just be objective observations. Hey, this person is lying about themselves online. Wonder what else they lie about?
COTH does provide a function of “rate my horse pro” by crowd sourcing. Someone will say “what do you think of Trainer/Breeder/Clinician xxxx.” Most of the time, if the pro has any profile at all, several members will chime in to say “oh, yes, I went to the clinic and it was very useful” or “I bought a horse from them and he’s wonderful.” Occasionally we get several people saying “we had problems with that sales barn, the horse was not as promised” or similar. Very useful discussions. They usually also fade out quite quickly.
And then every once in a while, these discussions turn into a train wreck. Inevitably, it’s when the “pro” in question turns up and makes things much much worse by demonstrating all the behavior people were wondering about right here in the forum. So everyone on the thread gets to experience the issues right here and now.
As posters have noted above, there are ways a pro can join a thread and make it clear both by what they say and how they say it that they are basically a solid, honest, and decent person. And they there are things they can say and a tone they can use that makes most people go “OMG everything that was said about this person is 100 per cent true and more, and they are doing it right here in front of me.”
Many people do not want to be around that kind of person, even if the person has access to nice enough horses, because they calculate the risk of getting involved in toxic interpersonal fallout or dishonest business practices. Many people do not want to do business with someone that appears to attract drama because they don’t want the risk of getting pulled into drama.
Most people here had no idea who you were when this thread started. Now everyone has a very very clear idea of who you are.
Yes they do. I’ve actually gotten a ton of private messages and support from this post, plus was able to educate many on lines. So I thank you for that. I will stay tuned for who you decide to bring up next.
