I’m not sure where pointing out ethical breaches and untruths in the online presence of someone trying to make a name in the horse world constitutes “hatred” or has to be personal. It could just be objective observations. Hey, this person is lying about themselves online. Wonder what else they lie about?
COTH does provide a function of “rate my horse pro” by crowd sourcing. Someone will say “what do you think of Trainer/Breeder/Clinician xxxx.” Most of the time, if the pro has any profile at all, several members will chime in to say “oh, yes, I went to the clinic and it was very useful” or “I bought a horse from them and he’s wonderful.” Occasionally we get several people saying “we had problems with that sales barn, the horse was not as promised” or similar. Very useful discussions. They usually also fade out quite quickly.
And then every once in a while, these discussions turn into a train wreck. Inevitably, it’s when the “pro” in question turns up and makes things much much worse by demonstrating all the behavior people were wondering about right here in the forum. So everyone on the thread gets to experience the issues right here and now.
As posters have noted above, there are ways a pro can join a thread and make it clear both by what they say and how they say it that they are basically a solid, honest, and decent person. And they there are things they can say and a tone they can use that makes most people go “OMG everything that was said about this person is 100 per cent true and more, and they are doing it right here in front of me.”
Many people do not want to be around that kind of person, even if the person has access to nice enough horses, because they calculate the risk of getting involved in toxic interpersonal fallout or dishonest business practices. Many people do not want to do business with someone that appears to attract drama because they don’t want the risk of getting pulled into drama.
Most people here had no idea who you were when this thread started. Now everyone has a very very clear idea of who you are.
