Dutch harness horse drama. Update major mare/ foal neglect Nov 2023 post 1782 Update Kate Shearer responds post 1930 Nov 25/23

You know, I went to a moderately tough high school in the 1970s when students were left to their own devices to sink or swim. Girls had actual fist fights. I have a very good sense of how you can taunt to get someone to the breaking point, then claim “they started it and attacked me,” and how you can dial up drama so everyone is stalking around ready to pounce. And we didn’t even have social media. Thing is, when I got to be about 16 or 17 I decided it was absolutely ridiculous and stopped participating. So did most teens.

As an adult that’s had a few adventures, I’ve never been in a bar brawl or even had a friend of any gender thats been involved in one. Cranberry juice, beer, nothing. I’ve never had family or coworkers or clients steal money or rip me off. I’ve never felt compelled to trash clients online. Etc Most people don’t experience any of this. So yeah, if you’re a drama magnet look close to home.

Lots of posters from Australia and Canada…

So that kind of does make it world wide.

Like I said, it was a choice.

No one I know as a friend or peer has ever been involved in a brawl in a bar.

Nor do I know anyone involved in a brawl. Believe me it was as shocking to me as to anyone what happened. I was out with some golf ladies celebrating my 35th birthday and it was like at 8pm. Wasn’t a crazy party scene lol!

I would suggest until at least 30% of those babies have grown up and has a performance resume.

And if by some chance someone randomly came up and shot at me while I was quietly reading my Bible on the front porch, officer, I also wouldn’t be plastering it all over FB and certainly not on anything intersecting my professional life.

This bears repeating. 1 out of 6 foals presented scored well. That’s a pretty big miss for most people.
And twisting of the facts in order to brag about it, quite unflattering.

There is NO best young jumper champion for the Keuring Tour results.
The OP made that title up on her own.
There is a top Ten for foals, yearlings, 2YOs and Studbook Horses. Period. The End.
The futurity seems a new thing, and it looks like not every horse shown is entered in that, so maybe there was a better horse that didnt enter. Like, maybe the first placed foal.

Actually at the keuring the best young jumper is scores from wrangling to 2yo. And in fact my wrangling beat out scores in all those ages across all keurings. And considering all my goals did well….how many foals have you taken to the keurings?

I never touted to be a top breeder. Why can’t I just be proud of what I’ve accomplished. And I absolutely agree I cannot wait for them to grow and go under saddle. But for now I’m freaking ecstatic with my program. So yes I’ll “woot woot” myself because it is an accomplishment.

You can actually sex an embryo!!! But decreases the chances of successful pregnancy by about 7-10%

You can actually test an embryo for color too!

Yes, that is what I was driving at. There is a difference between best (or second best) FOAL in the jumper direction and “best young jumper.” If I were the breeder of the real second best young jumper (as determined by the horse going over actual jumps), I would hope that other breeders understood the distinction and did not make unwarranted claims about their own horses.

Again this rampant I called someone a slut is not the truth :see_no_evil:

PREACH it!

Again at the keurings my foal won best young jumper that’s wrangling through 2yo. And yes his scores best out all those wrangling-2yo in all keurings. The Canadian foal had the highest score then i tied with someone who bought their foal in Utero. All our foals topped out scores through all 2yo!

Those are absolutely lovely. You’re clearly a very talented braider!

Manes I can do, tails I suck at. Do you have tips?

Absolutely! I’m always around for tips!!! The key to tails is to drop hair as you pick it up that keeps the braid the same size in the middle. Easier said than done as it’s a simple task but sometimes your fingers don’t work that way.
