Hmm. For someone doing horsey business in the Southern half of the USA, it doesn’t matter that much if COTH has truly international reach. It matters whether it’s being read in Florida and California.

My sense is that COTH the publication and the forums trend more to English sporthorse disciplines and hunters. Less to breed shows. So if you were embedded in say Arab circuit you might pay less attention. But jumper, dressage, eventing are more likely to follow it.

Also just because you are not internet savvy or don’t follow a given platform doesn’t mean no one else does. That would be like me dismissing TikTok as a social force because I don’t follow it or really like it.

But what really matters is what comes up when you Google.

Thoughtful, kind and constructive. I’ve felt that the OP was of the impression that “any publicity is good publicity” by continuing to participate. The OP has inserted much of her passion for breeding and, indeed, the braiding is beautiful but how one comes across - should a prospective client be doing their homework - is not how she believes it will.

@Kasheare - please read and re-read Fargaloo1’s post - your admitted defensiveness and willingness to argue on various points just puts you into the too hard basket as far as potential business.

And if I’d been involved in this altercation, whether I was at fault, the other person was at fault, or something in between AND I had a professional reputation to uphold, the absolute last thing I’d be doing is “getting into it” on SM, even on an unrelated topic, for fear of opening a door that someone could drag this incident in and link it to my professional name forever. That’s the time to keep your head down and keep your nose so clean it squeaks.

OMD, just so you know, she actually means ICSI embryos, not ET ones. Because of the very expensive microscope and microdissection tools needed to manipulate embryos for the biopsy, this isn’t usually done with regular ET embryos, only ICSI ones that have been cultured in a lab.
