Easy to clean white horse boots???

Does this animal exist? I have a young, dark bay horse who looks lovely in white WOOF boots. Unfortunately our footing is mostly black rubber, so my boots aren’t white for long. Each time I wash them, they get a bit more frayed and dingy looking.

Years ago I had Davis splint boots that were a shiny vinyl type exterior that were easy to wipe clean and looked WHITE again. But they are very thick and really heats up the legs, so I won’t go there now that I know better. Wish they made these with a lightweight lining vs. very thick neoprene.

Anything new out there that you know of???

I use woof boots myself, and they seem to hold up well for me.

I use Majyk sport boots. Just hose them off or use washing up liquid to scrub them. Really works, also can put in the wash. Lasted really well too.

Thinline boots come in white:

Spendy, but last ages, and only need a wipe down to clean dirt, and normal Velcro maintenance. I like the fit and the double locking straps.

I have really like these boots. http://www.doversaddlery.com/ventech-all-purpose-boots/p/X1-04677/ I was surprised because I am not a fan of the old style Professionals Choice boots—but some of their new ones are nice boots!

And bonus—they are cheap! They are mesh, so they breathe more than the Davis style boots. I throw them in the wash once a week—and my white ones wash really well. I just wish they came in more sizes.

I would second these! The patent ones clean up REALLY easily - it is like the dirty just slides off. The quality is fabulous too - I’ve got a pair of the snakeskin patent that are going on 3 years now, and still going strong (and I use them 4 or 5 times/week).

I think I’ll check out the Majyk or Ventech boots. Thanks everyone!

Www.boogalooboots.com! Not only are these the best fitting, longest wearing, no overheating the leg boots I have ever put on my horse, you can throw them right in the washing machine! For really stained spots I treat with a little Oxy Clean stain stick first and they come out good as new

These rinse off with a hose, for any deep marks a magic eraser works brilliantly.

I personally wouldn’t use open front boots daily. They do not distribute pressure evenly across the leg. As an eventing groom, I put these on very last before the horse goes out of the stall to show jump and take them off first thing when the studs are out and the horse is in the stall.

My rider is sponsored by Majyk. They are nice boots. They are all plastic type material so they generally stay cleaner looking than Woof boots, but they scuff very easily. I never thought of a magic eraser though - that might do the trick. They do rub one of our horses around the fetlocks, but she is a sensitive flower.

We generally stick to the normal, cheapy white fleece boots from Dover/SmartPak/Schneiders for schooling and then have a set specifically for shows. We throw them in the washing machine after soaking them in Oxiclean. The Woof type brushing boots generally look the dingiest the fastest in my experience. It is very hard to get neoprene super white.

I find that many boots stay nice and white if cared for. It is the elastic and velcro that I have trouble keeping white. I cannot think that expensive boots are more likely to have stain proof elastic.

I really want these–patent and sheepskin lined–perfect! Does the patent scratch easily or no?

OP–I’ve given up on schooling in anything white, except for some retired show/clinic boots/polos. Otherwise, the ASBs are actually pretty easy to keep clean and hold up pretty well to frequent washing.

Another vote for Majyk. I’ve had my white set for a year, pop them in the washer with no detergent maybe once a month, and they come out white.

I have the patent snakeskin, and they are several years old and I use them at least 4 times weekly, and no scratching! A bit of wear on the bottoms, but otherwise, they still look great!

I opted for the PC VenTech boots. Only $36 and look very similar to Majyk. I won’t go for anything with fleece since I also do low level eventing and the main point was something that doesn’t pick up black footing! White fleece would be on the “no-way” list. But I appreciate all the feedback!!!

Is there something that can be sprayed onto the boots to protect them from getting stained with dirt? Like show sheen?

The Equifit MultiTeq Boots are amazing for flatwork and come in white. They clean with a damp cloth. . and are washable and dry super quick.

I don’t spray them with anything, but I have seen people use scotch guard on the Woof boots. . .

My SmartPak sport boots have been wonderful!

Inexpensive, great fit, and the white washes great

I have some white boots which clean up quite well (cannot remember the brand).

My problem is with the elastic. Any suggestions for keeping it white, also?
