Easyboot Gloves coming to Valleyvet.com

FYI, the Old Dominion has moved and the ride last year and for the future is in a new location that isn’t as rocky. Still has rocky sections but not like the Fort Valley trails. And I have a horse that chipped coffin bone years ago while shod. We were riding the sort of trail that has loose rocks in the dirt of the trail and he came down wrong on one. Since then I have used pour-in pads when competing on rocky trails with him. That one foot has stayed more sensitive to rocks since his chipping. I use Hoof-it which I can apply and remove by myself. Easy to use and cheaper than the Vettec stuff. I’ve wondered if it wouldn’t possibly have some applications for barefoot horses too.

Yep, I know several race horses who’ve broken coffin bones while shod, and one club footed horse who did the same. Still, for that horse, I did not want to try the rocky trails in boots. I’d do it on my Arabian (and plan to at some point), but not that particular horse.

Good to know the new trail isn’t quite as rocky as the old one.

Where can I get information on these? Pictures?
Thanks!

Never mind I found it! They sound really interesting. I just may have to buy a pair when they come out.

yeah simplest yet! can’t wait to see what the little people say about them.

I love it… just wish I could get my hands on them sooner, spent about 150 on the old mac’s… gotta have something now though… those were best for the time being!

humph!

Can pads be used with the glove? How about the edge. any info on them?

Because VV is normally cheaper and their freight is free.

A good friend of mine is an Easyboot dealer. The first Easyboot gloves arrived and were tested out. So far the verdict is that they slip right on and have stayed on even when the Epics and Bares have come off. They are imrpessed with their first test of the product.

Now if I can find a way to sell all my old boots and afford new ones.

And you can usually find something else there that you need, too. Like supplements, vetrap, fly spay…

How about the Easycare Boot Upgrade Program? I am assuming you will be able to do this with the new Gloves.

Wow…that is really good to know! I’ve been on that website countless times and have never noticed that before, so thanks!

Boots available at Easycare now

So, it looks like the Glove is now available, at least in my mare’s size, via the manufacturer’s website (it lets me put them in my online cart), but not yet at Valley Vet, where they’re $10 cheaper and shipping is free.

I’m desperately eager to try these boots, but after all, the trails around my barn are still not fit for riding and I don’t need to spend the extra money. But ooooh, I’m tempted.

Unfortunately, Easycare’s exchange program isn’t cost effective if you factor in the shipping fees both ways, about $7 to send 2 old boots to them and then $15 to get the 2 new boots  Compare that to Valley Vet’s free shipping and $10 less per boot, and the fact that you don’t have to return two of your older boots.

No contest which is the better option. I’m ordering from Valley Vet.

They are a great product! And they stay on in all kinds of activites!
www.hoofbootnews.com They have been tested on the trail, cutting, jumping…

Everyone should keep in mind that you CANNOT use any pads inside the Gloves, according to the company. If you need pads for your horse, the Glove is not the boot for you. Neither are the glue ons.

I don’t need pads I just like the concept of pads. I want to see how the edges work.

Also keep in mind that the Gloves are not sized the way the other Easyboots are. You need to take measurements and refer to the chart. (Sorry, you guys probably already know this!)
I measured Jake, and he may just barely fit into the glove. (Hence the name, to be sure!) He is a 2 in Easyboots in the front.

I was hoping I would be able to use a Thinline hoof pad for shock absorption… but maybe not, huh? I will email and see if they use any different material in the glove to help with that issue…

And yes- they make ordering from places other than their own site easier because they want to support their dealers.

They LOVE feedback, though- so send away!

Steph

Ditto!

And ditto on the sizing for Gloves, they are very different from their other boots…

I have to assume you sent them the photos that you took? Were they interested in them?

Already available and they don’t turn: the Dallmer CombiClogs. You can attach any horse shoe to it.

Click on “Product Range” and go to page 8. The pdf takes a while to download but there’s lots of interesting stuff on this site:

Wow!! Thanks for the link! It’s bookmarked for later perusal. I think that clog would have worked nicely for my OTTB.
