Easyboot Gloves coming to Valleyvet.com

Oh, yes. It was from them I got the boots to test for them. He put us in his blog a few days ago (Feb 8) doing the jumping test: www.hoofbootnews.com

Mine arrived this week. And they fit…like a glove. He could have been the model for the design. Yipee! Easy on and easy off, too. I love them. Now I just have to wait until they start making the right size for my other horse.

Thanks, kcmel! Just ordered 2 different sized sets today from Valley Vet for three of my guys. Luckily I have two that wear the same size!

My 29 year old QH has super flat soles and tends to be tender footed. I have him barefoot living out for the winter with regular trims. Would the easy boot glove be a good alternative to shoeing him for once or twice weekly trail rides in the good weather?

I would think that just about any Easyboot would work for you. If he is flat-soled and tender, maybe a regular Easyboot would be a better option, for you can then out in a pad to give him some relief. The fit of the Gloves will not allow for a pad.

Just a thought. Not sure which way I am going to go- for I do not have trouble with the Easyboots going on or coming off, and I love the concept of padding.

I am about eight months into a barefoot trimming system on Jake, and I think he has settled into his feet. It will be interesting to see what they do once spring comes and goes, and we start a heavier riding schedule.

I don’t think the new Gloves are recommended for use with pads. Perhaps I’m wrong, but it is worth looking into.

A friend of mine who is becoming a Renegade dealer says if you want pads, you order them that way. Gel pads get installed at the factory, and they last a lot of miles. I opted for Old Mac Generation 2’s for my flat footed OTTB (okay, one foot is flat), because I needed the boots in a hurry and could pick them up locally. I cut a thick leather pad (the kind shoers use) to put into the boot. That works well for him. He is not a distance horse.
