That’s a new worldrecord

Mark my words…he will be the first to achieve 100% by next year. This is getting beyond ridiculous. I’m one of the few who is actually willing to express a negative opinion of this horse and I wish the others who feel this way would speak up. Nothing about totilas appeals to me. His movement is so over
the top and manufactured-looking.

I know some will say that a score of 10 doesn’t “mean” perfect, but in essence
it does. It means that there’s nothing left to improve with a given movement. Therefore, it’s perfect. Where do we go when we have a horse scoring so highly? Are all breeders going to start trying to emulate this movement? None but a very few riders can ever hope to ride that movement. I see no good coming from all this.

hey, dressageguy aka mr dressup-ferd, let’s see your videos! We want to learn!

Well, I hope breeders end up breeding more Totilases! I want to ride a horse like that! And for all you people who think he has such horrible movement, so mechanical, so fake etc… if you ever end up cursed with a horse with such horrible movement in your barn, you can just send him my way, I’ll take that disgusting burden from you!
If anyone deserves 100% its Edward Gal and Totilas!

I don’t think there is anything manufactured about this horse I think that is just how he goes. I disagree on few riders being able to ride that movement.

Only saw the freestyle but it was a lovely test… yes there are still some weaknesses but then there are other moments that just leave one gasping in joy at the sheer level of achievement - at times this horse achieves a standard I think we all aspire to but I for one never really imagined to see in a single animal in any kind of sustained, consistent way. I understand some of the criticisms leveled at him but anyone who can watch Totilas and say that nothing about him is impressive or worth aspiring to is either ignorant or has some kind of secondary agenda as far as I can tell.

Dressurpferd : Don’t we all want to see the perfect 10, and how it is performed ? You don’t have to buy expensive DVD’s from the ODG’s anymore. Just go to YouTube and type in Totilas and you will see which way to go in your own training

Can you see the video somewhere of the FS?

You know…I forget which test it was, it was from a few months ago…but I noticed something interesting in one of the canter-trot transitions. The first few strides of trot looked “normal”, and then he started throwing his front legs out in front of him again. It made me wonder…

Now I’ll have to see if I can find the video I’m talking about.

Am I missing something? According to these sites, he received an 83.66% for the GP and accumulated 92.3 points for the freestyle, is that the same as 92.3%?

It was an 83.6% in the Grand Prix and a 92.3% in the Freestyle… not sure why the websites listed the freestyle scores as ‘points’.

Two different classes;
Tues GP qualifier and Wed GP Freestyle.

All bickering about whether the horse is your idea of ideal aside; as riders could you possibly imagine what a ride like that would feel like?!?! To be rewarded with such a score!
I agree with BayHorse, although there are certain elements to the movement I do not love, there is a crispness, solidity and a level of precision the team is bringing to the sport that is impresive.

watching that horse ALWAYS gives me goosebumps!

And I love how Totilas just looked so pleased with himself at the end of the video! He KNOWS he’s hot stuff!

No matter if you like him or not you have to appreciate his movement.I for one think he is amazing! I had to pick my jaw off the ground the first time I saw him.

Does anyone else get the impression that this horse is TIRED?

His tempo in piaffe and passage IMO was just not what it has been. A bit more gesturing with the head and neck, overall not the impressive stability he normally exhibits. Small picks, but there nonetheless.

He just looks like he needs a vacation…

Sorry, to me this is as good as it gets!!
