Has anyone ever tried these? Comfort? Fit? Longevity? They have them at The Farm House. Online
Haven’t tried the paddock boots, but I love the EG07 tall boots. They are made by Tucci, so I can’t imagine anything bad with the paddock boots.
Loved my tall boots until they just started falling apart earlier this year after almost four years of good abuse and I had to retire them. I can’t see the paddock boots not lasting a good while with good care!
I don’t have the paddock boots… yet! But I do have their tall boots and half chaps and love both of them. Neither have slipped a lot and once my old paddock boots finally fall apart I will be trying on their paddock boots as their tall boots are so comfy!
I have a pair and really like them. I have wide feet with a pretty big arch and I think the only boots that could fit me better would be customs. I’d say average longevity. I’ve had them a few years and don’t wear them as barn shoes. Just when I ride, rarely for bathing but it’s happened and sometimes at the shows.
@monalisa - Have you tried them yet? I literally JUST called Farmhouse b/c my current paddock boots are falling apart to get suggestions. Shamefully, I do tend to wear them while hosing/bathing/walking across damp fields. I’m looking for something durable, so she recommended either the Ariat Devon Nitros or the Ego 7’s. I was trying to find reviews of the Ego 7’s so I can decide which ones…
Hokie98, I have the Nitros and for me, the are awful. I cannot wear Ariats for the most part, but those seemed a bit different in the footbed. I wear a sz 6. If you can wear a 6, you are welcome to them. They are practically brand new.
Thanks for the offer, but no, I need about a 8.5. But candidly, I was underwhelmed with my old Ariat Heritage’s. Granted they are a fairly base model, but they didn’t last anytime, and as you mentioned, I’ve read pretty mixed reviews on the Nitros. Maybe you’re the sign I just need to try the Ego 7’s. Thanks for the feedback!
Someone mentioned that the Ego7 boots run wide. If that is the case I can’t wear them. I have very narrow feet. The only ones that I have been able to wear are Tucci. They are insanely expensive. I wanted to try the new Ariat boots, but I think they will also be too wide. I have a very difficult time finding them to fit my skinny heels and ankles. I cannot wear most brands.
The Ariat Ascent Paddock Boot was the one I was also looking at but I think they run like all of the other Ariat boots - too wide.
I ordered these- they are beautiful but I can’t zip them. I do have a high arch, but this isn’t usually a problem for me.
I had to use heel lifts in mine (I also have high arches) and get them stretched professionally in order to zip them! I did have them fitted but after some time off my calf changed and they wouldn’t zip so the store re stretched them in the spot where they wouldn’t zip…they were always very tight and form fitting! They also, when I bought them, gave me instructions on how to properly zip them…basically never pull on the non elastic side, always pull the elastic side toward the leather side and then zip. Then always clean the zips after wear…mine have never failed even though they fit super tight!
Hi Eclipse! Do you mean the half chaps or the paddock boot? I can’t zip the boot😳
I ordered the Ego 7 paddock boots from Farmhouse and received them today. I agree, they are beautiful… But, like you, NHappy, I am having problems getting them zipped up! (And yes, these are the paddock boots, not tall boots). I had to remove the insert of the right boot and even then it was hard to zip. The left one zipped easier (guess my right foot is thicker?). I have wide feet and the width is pretty good for me across the ball of my foot (so Monalisa - yes, if you have narrow feet would probably be too roomy). Once I get the boots zipped, they are pretty tight across the top of my foot. I’d certainly have to break them in before riding in them - not sure how I could get my heels down because my mobility is limited. There are elastic panels but I don’t know how much they’ll stretch. I’ll try them on again later, will walk around a bit, then will make a final decision as to whether I keep them or return them.
@NaturallyHappy - I am looking to replace my Tredstep Medici’s - my pair has 2 zippers, which I’m not crazy about, but otherwise have been comfortable boots, even right out of the box. The new version looks to have a single zipper, which is an improvement IMO. I mention the Tredsteps
because you seem to be struggling a bit as well to finding a nice boot. Mine are 2-1/2 yrs old, worn about 4-5x a week, riding 1 horse, and worn even while hosing/bathing. I was just going to try another boot for variety, but maybe I should stick with what works for me… (shrug…)
@hokie98 my boots tend to be too wide in the heels. That’s where they don’t fit. Do the Ego7’s run wide there? I don’t like the boots that zip up the back. The front is fine - and I prefer zippers to laces. Which Ego7’s did you try - the front or the back zip?
This is what I just ordered. These are supposed to be super comfortable but not your classic paddock boot - I wanted comfort first. Will let you know if they fit.
I bought the front zip ones - Taurus. I’ll be honest, I think I have fairly normal heels - I’ve never really given much thought to the heel area being wide vs narrow. I don’t feel as if the Ego 7 are tight in the heel. I have to take out the additional removable insole in order to get them zipped, when I take that out, the heel is a bit roomier. That’s probably not much help!
Nice! They do look super comfortable; I like the sporty look, plus they’re made in Europe. I hope they work out - great price too!!
My tall boots and half chaps … I had both professionally fitted, the boots had to be stretched when they first came and then again after extended time off, the half chaps after my time off! They didn’t need a lot of stretching … I could get them halfway zipped, just not all the way! If you’re talking paddock boots that is strange as when I tried a pair on I didn’t have a problem and my arch is crazy high!
I have a weird knot on the tops of both of my feet from a medical procedure. I took out the insole and they zipped easily. I think I’ll walk around like that for a while-even w/o the insole, they were still quite comfortable. Thank you for your help.
