I have always heard the American pronunciation for grulla as grew-la. Nothing wrong with saying the “l” since we live in the states. 
Most pronounce Cavallo as can-va-low, not can-va-yo.

It is a French word so if you want to be correct, it is bow-shay.

How about crupper? English demands a short vowel before the double letter, but everyone seems to pronounce it croo-per rather than cruh-per.

I have never heard anyone pronounce grulla grew-la. Gak! It’s hardly recognizable that way! How about pollo and La Jolla?
Yeah, no n. Maybe that was a typo.
Cavallo is an Italian word, so the L should be pronounced. It isn’t Spanish (caballo) with the y sound.

This is why, in real life, I usually pronounce it “hanging cheek snaffle” :lol: Otherwise someone always thinks I’m wrong!
We say bow-shay around here. And Cuh-VAL-oh.
And grew-lo. 
I think I’ve always said grew-la. Then again, I don’t even remember the last time I said it out loud, but it did come up in good old Horse Bowl back in my 4H days…

Yup! “Bow” as in “wow”. (“Boo-shay” would be spelled “Boucher” - he was a French artist of the 18th century.)

What about Amerigo? I say Am-er-ee-go. But I’ve heard others say A-mary-go.
I pronounce Amerigo as "ah-mary-go. Not sure if that’s correct or not…

Like someone else mentioned above cavallo is Italian so the there is the L sound not the Y sound. The Spanish word for horse, caballo, should be pronounced with the Y sound. Other than that I really only ever knew how to pronounce Ogilvy correctly because I heard someone say it. I pretty much have given up on correct pronunciation of some of these things haha… I heard someone who had a really interesting pronunciation of Amerigo once. I’m Italian so I pronounced it that way but someone changed where the emphasis was so it was on the RI… It was along the lines of Ah-mah-REE-go which did not sound right to me at all. When it comes to the equestrian brand, how do you pronounce it?
