EMG - BULLETIN BOARD DEAD - ONTARIO
It’s like any sandbox scenario … when the attitudes and opinions get too strong and one sided or not to your liking for whatever reason you look for another sand box. That’s why TMB lost a significant number of it’s prolific posters .
It’s all about sandbox etiquette and whether they share the toys in a manner you can find acceptable .
It is a cultural thing too. Let there be diversity in choices. :).

But seriously, I think the thread is about paying tribute to EMG. Its loss and the loss of Tandy is important to our community. Tandy did amazingly well in keeping that ship afloat and on an even keel, while juggling conflicting priorities. Thank you again Tandy! It was a culture that will be hard to replicate.

Thank you to the rest for letting us know about new options. I think the messages are out there. What is done is done and people will make their choices based on past experience. Best of luck to all.

I was never a real fan of EMG… a little bit too “butterflies and roses” at times… but I find it quite telling that Equiman has not taken the time to post an announcement about closing the board… That says a lot about what he thinks of people who enjoyed his board, go to HIS shows… etc.
I did not participate much because I always thought there was a “clique” of people who knew each other, showed together, etc.
But many will disagree with me and that’s fine. My DD who is quite more involved in horses, never visited. I guess it will hurt the many people who used the Employment forum.

EMG website serves a purpose for the A circuit shows here in Ontario. Class lists, orders of go, results, etc., are all posted on the site.

The classified section of the BB was hugely popular; it was a forum that was consulted by many on a regular basis. The Ask the Vet forum will also be missed, I think, as there was a world of information at a click. Interpretation of EC rules and regs was also covered in a forum.

I know I visited the BB often - played there from time to time, too! I can think of a couple of memorable animal communicator threads that were entertaining - while they lasted!

Can’t say that I participated to any great extent on any of the other boards local to our area. Fit just didn’t seem right for me. I’m enjoying reading many CoTH threads, but gotta admit I miss the local flavour (with a ‘u’ cuz I’m a Canuck) of EMG. Here’s hoping Equine Ontario takes off and fills the void!!!
