Equestrian Stockholm saddle pads

@equinelibrium I have the ES pink pearl and it is beautiful but the material is shiny/glossy.

I also have the Kentucky velvet pad in pink and I LOVE it. It’s one of my favorite pads and looks really beautiful. It hasn’t had a ton of use yet so I can’t attest for how it holds up, but it’s been through the wash several times and comes out looking brand new each time.

That’s what I was going to suggest too. Lemieux Rose Loire collection

PSOS and ES in full size might both be too big for a small horse, I posted a few photos above of the jump pads on my horse for reference. They do have a cob size but idk how big those are.

Ogilvy baby pads are also really nice, I like them a lot and they would fit better on a smaller horse. I order those from Farm House Tack, not sure if they still carry them because I haven’t ordered in a few years?

The LeMieux Loire pads are nice and would work too. The full size is too small for my horse.

I’ve never had a Kentucky velvet pad but I’ve heard great things. I want to buy one but so far they don’t have any colors that speak to me.

I just received two of those PSOS pads. I think the suede edge sort of sedates the bling factor. They are a good sized pad. Here is my 16.3, 84" blanket wearing girl with an 18" saddle in her orange set:

The Kentucky pads are gorgeous, but what annoyed me was that I ordered two pads last summer that measured 24" down the spine (including binding and piping) and then when I ordered two more in different colors, they were an entire inch shorter, which almost makes them too small for my saddle. They also seem to slip back a little more than I’d like, so when you add that along with the shorter pad overall, the front binding ends up under the front panel of the saddle since they don’t have d-ring keepers. Super frustrating.

I actually just ordered a Mrs. Ros pad and haven’t tried it out yet on my horse, but it’s genuinely one of the prettiest pads I’ve ever seen in person.

The orange does look nice on chestnut! I wasn’t so sure it would work.
Hmmm… Mr P is about the same color as she is. But he’s quite a bit smaller so might get swamped.

Yeah, I was a little dubious, but this is just muted enough to work and I love it. This one can pull of bold colors. My really deep red chestnut (in my avatar) looks better in more conservative colors.

Bummer that the sizing is inconsistent, but that may actually be a plus for me with a smaller horse! What colors did you get?

@blob99 thanks for the info! I’d love to see a picture of your Kentucky pad if you feel comfortable sharing. Sometimes it’s hard to gage the actual color from the stock photo, though theirs are pretty good.

For the record, anyone sharing that they have such-and-such pad should be required to share photos

I have the brown/tan pied de poule, the greeen, and the orange velvet ones. It was the orange one that ended up being a little too small.

And per your request, here is a photo of most of my pads. lol I’m missing a few LeMieux ones (chili, plum, grey, and teal) as well as a couple of grey and white ones. Other than that, I think this is everything. And yes, I know it’s a lot, but if you’ve ever seen the movie or read the book In Her Shoes, well, I kind of look at saddle pads a lot like the character of Rose views shoes. It’s hard for me to find fun breeches that fit and look nice on me and multiple pairs of custom boots are well-outside of my price range. Saddle pads are fun and a bit more affordable.

@see_u_at_x - Those are lovely! What color horse do you have?

I love pink/orange Harry’s Horse pad and the green one. And you have the Emerald pad I really want that isn’t available in full size anymore.

The new LeMieux Papya color is quite lovely but they don’t offer it in the suede finish, which I prefer.

I refuse to buy another pad at the moment. I finally caved and bought a custom Mattes pad in early January. I don’t think it will be here for another 3-5 weeks. I’m trying to force myself to wait until that one shows up.

Welcome to saddlepadoholics guys. The first step is admitting you have a problem :joy:

Thank you! He is a “boring” bay. Not even a lot of white markings on him. But he’s very opinionated and has way more personality than one horse deserves to have! :joy:

It’s so awesome that you like that Harry’s Horse pad! That’s probably the most special pad in my collection because I actually bought that pad when I went to the European Championships in 2015. My friend and I made a road trip to Divoza Horseworld and I bought a few orange or “orange-ish” things since that’s my favorite color. Below is a better picture of it.

I’m with you about the new LeMieux colors. I’d like to get both the watermelon and papaya, but I’m going to wait until the suede ones comes out. For whatever reason, they released the Loire ones before the suede, so we’ll see how I feel about it when they’re finally available. Seriously guys, I have one horse. This is a problem. LOL

@Jealoushe, I bow down to you! That LeMieux collection is fabulous!

PSA: “Dressage Week” at Equestrian Stockholm. I may have broken down and bough the “dark sky” pad I’ve been ogling, but I did display impressive restraint by not purchasing the matching polos.

whyyyyy is the champagne one on sale? whyyyyy…

slaps own hand NO.
