Eric Lamaze Submits Forged Medical Documents to Court

Nothing this dirtbag says is true, he’s a pathological liar, and that is his only real sickness.

But that would not make his diagnosis confidential, just his treatment. He is claiming his diagnosis is confidential, at least that is how I read it.

Here’s one angle of the story that amazes me, although having been involved with horses my entire life you’d think my sense of surprise would have long since evaporated. Why did several of these clients, after they’ve clearly been ripped off, continue to stay associated with Lamaze? And buy more horses from him?

These were very wealthy people. Their money would’ve been welcomed anywhere. Yet they kept going back to the Lamaze well, dipping their cups into more sketchy poo.

Most clients were blamed if a horse didn’t go well it took years to unravel the truth. Also look even now Lamaze has supporters, a great deal of backlash would come to the person who would go against him. I mean he had about 20 active lawsuits and still was in charge at the Canadian federation so that just goes to show you his power .
Also a lot of his " clients" are young kids of wealthy parents . Parents don’t know much about horses and believe the Olympian.

All clinical trails in Europe are registered in an online database . If you search glioblastoma , there is no clinical trial for a person of his age group active and confidential . The sloppy work of the modern journalists - they print whatever he says even though he has been busted lying repeatedly. It is so easy. Take 20 min and search yourself

European cancer clinical trials - then search gliobastoma there are about 8 clinical trials - none are like what he describes .

Also your medical files are always your own property , his lies are bad and not carefully thought through but the best part is their will always be a crowd that believes what he says because he “rides well” .

He was a con artist on steroids. Intense, super successful, supported by very successful pros (Tiffany, Yann), backed by Artisan & Stephex, and his first big horse was a flying couch (the irresistible Cagney). His grooms were glamorous, his sunglasses were always trendy, he was the little engine that could next to the tall maple that was Ian Millar. Easy to see how a parent could be dazzled.

I can see that. The parents, who are typically not horse savvy, are the ones who get dazzled. Or the newbie adults, flush with cash who yearn to get into showjumping. I can appreciate that it makes sense to go to the Big Name with all the flash and notoriety. I suppose in some ways it also becomes about the projected lifestyle and ambience at the barn, the social scene provided, vs strictly the horses.

As an aside, does Lamaze still have all those fancy sports cars and multi-million dollar houses? Because if he’s short on cash, why not sell some of them? Or was that all heavily leveraged stuff that he actually owed tons of money on?

that part is true. you are correct.

I had to give WADA my records including diagnosis surgery imaging etc. For me in the USA records were very accessible. There was nothing secret about that

In the US clinical trials are posted in a central database where doctors and patients can search. Not all doctors can participate in clinical trials ( neither want to or are worth it since it involves monitoring and audits by the company / institution running the trial) for now the NIH clinicaltrials dot gov web site is open

anyone can search

There was a big real estate agent that he also did alot of his house sales with in Wellington - she also owned a bunch of his horses (pretty famous ones)

Word was she and many others gave him hundreds of thousands to pay for “chemo”.

Once he fled to Europe she repossessed and sold off a bunch of his things –

I could be wrong but I think a lot of those cars were leases or rentals . Big crooks like that rarely actually own much or keep anything in their name . All smoke and mirrors .
And what was his, I doubt he has much left- he blew a ton of money on private planes and helicopters rides - he balled harder on his lifestyle then most billionaires .

$42k a month condo rental?!!?!?!? Didn’t I read that upthread or in a linked article?

I wonder if his clients who were disappointed with their purchased horses, nonetheless continued to believe his excuses enough that they thought that the next one would be The One.

Plus I wonder if horses of the caliber that he claimed he was selling may be in scarce supply. Especially if you are not already an insider in the game.

Add to that, it could be that his horses were less expensive than others of the caliber of what Lamaze claimed.

Many people will start suspending their common sense when they think that they can get something rare and special for a discount, and even more so if they are told that other buyers want it, so they have to move now, without more research.

Yeah, I had a moment when I read that, too. Sure, it’s a high cost of living area but he couldn’t find suitable living quarters for a less? Like, maybe $30,000 a month?

I agree with @Truthistruth that those fancy cars were probably leases or rentals. I’m guessing much of his life was a grand charade. He was comfortable with the illusion. So lying outright and ripping off clients came easily.
