I was curious to what the judges were looking for in the shoulder in. Majority of all riders seemed to score 6/7 on them. Wondering how they could’ve ridden them better. More collected/clearer 3 tracks?

Anyone else confused about when the CC starts? It’s not streaming on CMT but I think it started at 5:50am Eastern time?

NVM Start time pushed back to 8am for drying.

8am EST

REALLY hard to say if you aren’t sitting in the same place as the judge. Cameras makes stuff look weird too  There’s always the bane of eventers; rythm and relaxation.

What happened to Yasmin Ingham on XC? She went from 5th to 40th place.

Refusal at 22c and a bunch of time.

Thanks.

Did anyone watch the slo-mo gig of Michi’s fall? It looks like Chip never even tried to land, his front legs just folded underneath him. The EN report says he stumbled earlier in the course, I really hope he is alright.

I was just checking the scores and saw the FR for Michi and could not believe it.

Came here to see what happened. I hope Chipmunk and Michi are ok.

Whew!

Another amazing run by Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo, who performed a text book round under challenging conditions. Worth a study for the many lessons to be learned by watching such excellence.

Rosalind Canter makes those jumps look small.

The balance, the judgement of pace, her accuracy, the feel she rides with, the complete communication with her horse and the trust between the pair. If she can’t walk on water, she can surely ride through mud!

It really helps to be a tiny rider in those conditions.
(Just under 5’2" and almost 112 lbs.)

Fabulous result for Kitty King too.

There has been some commentary of late that somehow Ros has an advantage because of her small stature in muddy going.

I don’t really buy it. I bet if Michael Jung had beat her, nobody would say it. But when she dominates a field, there’s this asterisk people want to add to her victory.

I say, Hurrah Ros! Well done trouncing the competition with a well-trained horse and well-planned rides. It’s not seriously a question of her ability at this point? 2018 WorldChampion, 2023 Badminton champion, 2023 European champion :trophy:

Under what conditions? I’m a tiny adult rider who has only experienced my size as a disadvantage - except I can still ride ponies.

When conditions are deep and tiring for the horse, it helps them to carry less weight around the track.

But she is such a gorgeous rider, and can ride well so many different types, including somehow managing to keep a big horse together, I’m not putting any asterisks next to her wins.
