I am watching Zara Phillips and I didn’t realize it rained today! But my understanding of the mud pit was that it was behind the trade fair. That shouldn’t hamper the XC course. If it stays sticky, can’t they drop out a fence?
The mud problem is anywhere and everywhere there is traffic: foot traffic, vehicle traffic, or horse traffic. The galloping lanes are roped off so not yet bad, but as soon as a few horses go they will deteriorate. With a course dominated by skinnies and corners, there is only one line and one takeoff spot for many of the fences. Mud is going to be a reality. It’s exhausting for spectators to slide through and will take a toll on the horses.
Local weather said no rain yesterday and it came down quite regularly. And it’s been raining almost every day.

Our riders scores: PD 43.8, BM 46.3, BD 48.7, SH and KS 50.8, LS 53.0. Good scores, only a 10 point spread. They are placed 7, 14, 24, 31, 31, 39 with about 12 riders left. Great Job, USA!
I have only seen that Session 1 starts at 10am local time.
And Clifton Promise comes through to go into second. Way to go!
Fences 20 and 23 have been removed and course/time shortened.
