Does anyone else subscribe to EventingTraining.com? I have been a long-time subscriber when it was eventing training online.com. I never had a problem with the site before but now I am looking to cancel the service, I was surprised to find that no one has responded to my emails or phone calls and there is no option to cancel my subscription which is 40 or $50 US per month. I find that very suspect. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have that problem with pretty much EVERY service (not just them)ā¦but I had it Clip My Horse and a few others. You have to go digging to figure it out. People running it are small and have other jobs. I wouldnāt think scam right awayā¦but it may take a bit to get a response. You can also call your credit card that it is billed too and stop it on that end.
I PMād you the whois info for who registered that domain⦠but after a little research Iād say you should call your CC company or bank asap.
The individual who registered the site is one of these brothers āAdam Toren, and Matthew Toren are serial entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and founders of YoungEntrepreneur.com and Blogtrepreneur.com along with several other internet properties. They are authors of the award winning books, Kidpreneurs and Small Business, BIG Vision: Lessons on How to Dominate Your Market from Self-Made Entrepreneurs Who Did it Right. Their latest project, a free classified ads network called iSell.com.ā
I doubt they are doing eventing training. Perhaps just bought the site up or someone used their info to register it (fake info happens sometimes). Iād be very wary at this point.
ETA - found another person to contact who says they manage this and they definitely are a horse person. Iāll PM you that to try instead.

I can tell you that I was a longtime subscriber to Eventingtrainingonline.com as well and then, suddenly, it seemed all content was gone and they were going to be relaunching the site. I was able to get in touch with the person that rockonsox mentions above and I was able to get the membership canceled. Thatās who I would reach out to, and they should be able to help you!
Actually this is how most of the video streaming companies and other subscription licensed companies make the most money. Cause by burying the contact information as far down as they possibly can and making cancelling a subscription equal with a rocket launch to other space they can continue to cash in on your money for another 3-12 months.
that site was supposedly āfoundedā Brian & Morgan Sabo (husband & son of Lisa Sabo). she runs the Newport Mesa Pony Club in Newport Beach, CA. if you have linkedIn you can find Morgan & Brian.

would love to know if you guys have someone else as the owner of that siteā¦
It is much easier to stop on the Credit Card end. Tell the CC company that you no longer give permission for funds to be taken by that entity and that the entity is not responding to you, or is making contact impossible.
UGH I have been having the same problem for over 6 months. I dispute it with the credit card they refund and I am charged again the next month! Its so annoying!
Perhaps a new card is in order. Can you āloseā your card and request a new one without great inconvenience? I did lose a card recently and had a replacement within a week.
When all else failsā¦
Unless you really cancel the card account, just switching cards may not work. There are ācard updaterā services from the associations, and itās entirely possible that the entity that has your card stored (probably the gateway that the merchant uses, like Braintree or Authorize.Net) will receive an update and keep right on charging it!
I had no idea that was a thing⦠ When my card was replaced the CC company mentioned to make sure to notify any auto withdraws that I have set up (I donāt have any and this is why) of the new number.
Iād take the time to speak with an actual person at the CC company/bank and insist the issue be resolved.
This is really odd, canāt they block the charge from a certain location? I would contact your bank and ask.
I went through the bank first, because I didnāt get any response at first from the owner of the site ā and the bank said they could not deauthorize the auto debit to my card
Which is why now, if I can, I use PayPal for subscription services, because they have made it easy to go in and deauthorize auto charges. I did eventually hear back from the Sabos and got the charge taken off, so keep pushing on it on that end. It was very frustrating but did get resolved.
I had no idea about this either, thanks for the information. Fortunately I donāt have any automatic debits, just donāt believe in them.
I had this issue with Clip My Horse too. It was unbelievable- I spent hours and hours trying to cancel my subscription to no avail. Finally I canceled the card. PITA, but no way was I giving those people any more money.
Have you tried disputing the charges with the card company? It may be possible to block future charges through the card company. If you have other things auto-charging the card that you actually want, that could be the easiest way forward.
Woaw, donāt say I donāt believe you but never heard them be mentioned in this kind of context before but this make me think they are on the same path as FEI TV and Horse&Country TV and obviously the company that was the whole base for this thread. That is so sad and dodgy
I used to me an ETO member, Iād usually do month to month and only renew when I had more time. Luckily I cancelled before they went under. I just got an email this morning from the ānewā owners of ETO asking about membership and advertising their new platform. May be an in to getting your disputes heard! The sender email was support@eventingtraining.com
