Is the bar to stop Rory getting in? And if so, why so high when its not going to have a horse in it?
Nice gates … Burrito can be safely contained and still be able to watch what’s going on.
I think anything with Odie in it is charming. But, I’m curious? about the height of the burrito house, too. And the gates? they’re gorgeous, but, are they totally finished? no issues? of a leg getting hung/pawed thru those? (either by big horse on outside or widdle one on inside?) You’re in a cold area, right? Will evil burrito be out here in the winter? Anyway. great look to it all !
I think building the burrito house as high as you have makes sense as maybe one day you will need it for a horse or other larger animal than Odie, or Odie can share with Rory sometime. It’s like a horse trailer-better to buy one that’s an extra 2" taller than standard even though you just have a large pony now because one day you might have a 17-18 hand horse.
Luky Odie. I don’t get the front door bit ?
What a lucky donkey. (He deserves it)
Love the pictures and that is a very cute donkey house!

Exactly (to answer another’s questions). Plus since it’s in the paddock where BIG horses are, I don’t want someone cough Rory cough to cut their face on the roof. And it can absolutely be used temporarily for another horse, or as hay storage, or whatever.
The bar is high…or not high… I’m confused? Yes it’s to keep Rory and anyone else out, and give Odie a place to escape to, and I checked the measurements; it’s about the same height as the chest bar in my trailer.
I doubt anyone will hang a leg in the gates They are complete other than hardware.
Thank you for all the positive posts
That’s so perfect! The little prince gets his own castle. Odie will certainly enjoy it, and he can still stay safe and irritate his horse buddies.
I wanna see a picture of Rory’s nose when it came out of the paint can! LOL!
Nice donkey digs!

OK, I managed to more paint on the Donkey Digs today, so other than some hardware, it’s done
First of all, his BFF Rory apparently loves paint.
And one complete Donkey House…
Complete with donkey![/QUOTE]
An Okie palace, that is what you built.
He will be safe from the other horses there when he wants some peace.
If some giraffe horse still can get it’s big head way in there, you can always add a second board higher up.
I don’t think the wind will blow that one down easily, it looks very stout.
love the pictures and captions. thanks for sharing!
One adorable donkey and his house is awesome. Well done! One of these days,
a little donkey is going to very mysteriously show up in our pasture.

Hahaha I snapped this. My BM thought I was tired or drunk and trying to deworm
He managed to stay surprisingly clean, except for the little paint 'stache!
Jenners: I love the house! (and do agree in re: roof…no reason for it to be low enough the bigger horses ‘outside’ could get an injury from it! that makes sense!) I hope you didn’t think my input wasn’t ‘positive’— I had never seen that style of gate used for horses before, and I wasn’t sure? if you were going to use the style with ply on the back? (like a cross buck design) or leave them open. I wonder? why folks don’t do this gorgeous style more often for horse gates? They’re so pretty!
Just now found this thread. Thank you for starting my Monday morning (normal Monday morning: :dead: ) with a great smile.
omg tooo cute! Love the pic of Odie in the house. Love it!!!
You should turn Odie on to “Teachers” a series on Hulu.
