Hi could someone please link to where I can watch the eventing online at the BBC. I know its linked on eventingnation but I’ve installed expat shield and its made my internet connection funny so for some reason I can’t access EN.

Sorry for the ramble and thanks for this thread :).

O. Really don’t want to download any other software/browsers for this, and hubby is already complaining about the pop ups.[/QUOTE]

Archieflies: I had good luck using adblocker to stop the obnoxious pop up adverts on IE, I did have to go thru firefox tho’ to make it all gel… Also to stop the pop up ads on Google, I used a free adblocker from the Google Chrome Web Store.

It did end up blocking my FB message page like a pop -up, so I just adjusted the blocker from the FB page.

hope this helps.

Yay, the video is finally up.

A big old THANK YOU to Equibrit for being my hero and telling us about expatshield and BBC coverage.

I just checked the NBC replay and they had the BBC commentary.

Thanks Equibrit–I downloaded and now I’m “British” even my Yahoo account is now across the pond!

I was buffering badly, but when Mr. CC gets offline, I’m betting I’ll have better luck. Truly, NBC sucks this time around for anyone who isn’t paying the big $$ for dish/cable packages. Boo on them!

nope, still none

I downloaded it when it was first announced here:yes: but, I am still told BBC broadcasts are not :no:available here.

Carol, you have to connect through it. Get online, click the little shield icon, and connect. Then go to the BBC.

Thanks for the link vineyridge :).

What time does the dressage start on Day 2? The BBC is still showing yesterdays coverage but shouldn’t the first rider be off in a couple of minutes?

I am waiting as well…

me too…

Thank You!!!

I’m trying to watch the BBC livestream and it is buffering ENDLESSLY. I’m on a Mac, I have superfast internet, I’ve tried it in both Chrome and Safari. Any suggestions? If I pause to try and let it ‘catch up’ it doesn’t help much.

Thank you BBC

I agree, thank you for steering me to this website. I was so bored not hearing any commentary on the NBC live feed so switched to BBC where they are at least talking about the horse/rider combinations and even giving scores.

very strange browser behavior w/ Expat Shield

So, I installed expat shield, and it took all my jedi abilities to keeep expat shield from installing lots of CRAP in my browser, like requiring me to use certain search tools, etc.

I use firefox or chrome to view the BBC feed. And as I’m sitting here, using chrome, Internet Explorer has opened BY ITSELF, and is spawning new window after new window. It is trying to open a window at a site called anchorfree.net.

WTF?

This is just crazymaking and as soon as the Olympics is over, I am torching expat shield. :frowning:

I saw the first part of on BBC it early this morning (insomnia!). It was great. Buffered a tiny bit, but for just a second or two at a time and it caught up really fast. I am not a dressage rider, but the commentary seemed really good.

I am delighted and want to thank those on these forums for their help with this connection. I would gladly have paid NBC for on-line viewing, but I don’t have cable or satellite, so I can’t. I guess NBC has some kind of contract with the cable/satellite providers that forces it to do this.

TooOldforPonyClub, I was watching with my Verizon wireless broadband Internet service. It seemed plenty fast, except for the bit of buffering. The computer I am using is just a cheap little Acer netbook with Windows XP and IE.

I just ignored the banner ads at the top. I might try some of the downloads suggested to get rid of them, but not sure I want to mess with computer anymore.

Update…just turned it on and happened to see Phillip Dutton’s go. It buffered a little bit and there is a pop up ad across the very top, but I am delighted to be getting this coverage!!!

Anchorfree makes expat shield, which will open IE when loaded. Just close IE and open Chrome.

Just downloaded it and it worked. I guess it’s on break right now? Stupid OLN/rds is not livestreaming in Canada today…their loss

equibrit, I closed literally hundreds of automatically opened IE windows. The only thing that made it stop was running AdBlock.

Very naughty behavior. Bad Expat Shield. Bad, bad, bad.
