ExPat Shield/BBC watchers check in here!

I don’t understand all the ad comments. I can set my security software to stop all that. (Kaspersky) If I go full screen it’s all lovely video.
I did get all the ads at first, but now have solved that problem (thanks to Cothers).
Agree with you Equibrit, if you hit the full screen you are set!

I am so looking forward to the cross country this A.M.

Help… I managed to download Expat shield. I used custom install. I have ad-block on Firefox. I thought I was all set!

But it won’t connect. I’ve tried having no programs open. I switched my default browser to IE, then back to Firefox. No dice.

Also checked my firewall (it says it is “on” but I can’t find out how to turn it off) and Microsoft Security Essentials).

Any insight would be gratefully accepted!

ETA: I have Stealthy Pro now, it allows me to access the BBC site, but it is buffering badly. :frowning:

BBC is rocking! Go Boyd!!

Was going great, now I have audio, but the video is corrupt. Have refreshed multiple times. Any suggestions?

What happened when BBC1 went away and BBC3 started over again?

Hope I’m still on the right place…NBC Olympics is running on real time and BBC3 is in delay?

I’m using streaming vpn and same problem. I’ve tried a number of different ip addresses and generally get 30 seconds or so then the screen goes bad. It worked great yesterday.

HALP!

OK, I’m watching the BBC feed and it won’t stop buffering (a couple of times per minute). I have fast internet. I’ve tried using my wifi, and plugging directly into my computer. I’ve used three different browsers, as well as all three player options on the BBC site. I updated Flash. There’s a suggestion to turn off hardware acceleration, but I can’t figure out WHERE to do that on my Mac (it says right click on the player. I can’t right click with my touch pad).

I will send some major karma to anyone who can help with this! This is so bizarre; I watch TV (streamed or downloaded) ALL THE TIME on this computer with no problems and no buffering.

Finally got it to work! …but it’s on delay… (rain?)

no, Cdn rider fall delayed the competition, but after the delay, I can’t seem to get XC back. I click on it and it keeps going to other sports!!! Grrr

Finally, closed everything and reopened another browser window, went back to the bbc schedule and clicked on today’s schedule and live …

I keep trying to change channels to what they way…BBC3 and it keeps giving me the older stuff ARGH

I had problems with bbc too today, as i said earlier. Went back to another browser window, opened bbc to today’s date and went down to Equestrian and live. Then it worked. I think I kept clicking the wrong window “live”.

Have watched some great rides!!!
Thanks for all the tips. It’s a tad bit choppy but better than nothing (I get a little “hiccup” every 30 sec. or so.)

Do I have to watch live or can I watch later?
(Kinda feel like i should go ride my own horses but it 's hard to tear myself away…)

bbc will have the xc as catch up later… I think the schedule shows a different colour when it is live or catch up…

Catchup is yellow.

Try disabling potentially conflicting plug-ins/add-ons in your browser ?

I watched all of XC with no issues on BBC using expat shield. Woo hoo! I just knew it wasn’t going to work, but it did…lol.

I have a brand new computer, and I’m not sure (ashamedly) what virus/adware, etc. is running, but I didn’t get any ads.

Catch-up worked.

I’m thrilled to have access to the BBC coverage. I am watching yesterday’s replay as well.
( I fell asleep after 5 riders this A.M.)

What a lovely venue , and no obnoxious commentary (the BBC guys seem to know what they are talking about, which is a nice change). :)
I second. Thanks so much for sharing the information. I’m catching up on the dressage. NBC totally skipped Karen’s ride because some soccer or volleyball thing went over. Gee thanks.

Also the BBC guys talk like golf commentators, nice and quiet with valid information and not BS.
