Fair Hill 2019

I think it is Kate Chadderton and Packy

It was Packy and Silva, towards the end.

If Packy puts down TBs one more time…he’s negative even when trying to “be positive” …I will throttle him. When a WB was not good in the dressage or tense…he wasn’t “blaming” the breed. Ugh!!!

Is Packy capable of moderating his opinions?

Also, go Waylon!

no…no he is not. It is one reason he can be quite entertaining. Just kidding…he is actually filtering far more than normal…but I REALLY hate breed bias like that…just so snobbish…especially when most of the issues are rider related NOT horse related.

Who is he?

Lol a guy who thinks he’s more special than he is

Packy posts on this forum from time to time… just saying…

Yes he does. And I’d tell what I posted to his face…he wouldn’t care. I thought he did a good job with the commentary but I didn’t have time to watch much. Just drives me nuts about breed bias.

I cannot speak for this year, but the past years as a groom they have offered breakfast and lunch vouchers for the food in the stabling. It was not necessarily for everything on their menu, but it was well worth it.

Great Meadow had a very nice tent for riders and grooms the past few years - breakfast, lunch, and dinner for at least two of the three days. (I should know, I sat in it all day as stable manager.) Not sure if they had the same setup this year or not.

Waylon’s test was my favorite. I was actually surprised to see Phillip above him on the leaderboard. I didn’t see Colleens test. But I’d think he’s happy with where he’s sitting going into today.

I just wish he’d wear a helmet

Watching the XC live stream this morning. During about the fourth rider, you could hear someone whispering behind Packy’s commentary. Something about “fuck I lost it…” Maybe they need a 5-second delay?

So thankful for the livestream! I was able to watch my trainer from 38,000 feet on my way to Punta Cana. Gotta love technology

There have been a lot of rider falls in the 4*. The corner of the coffin especially seems to be causing them, but that seems to mostly be about the riders not being on a good line.

But still, only 8 of 24 have gotten around clear so far. 8 of those 24 are non-completes.

Huh, they just added a late 15 each to Z and Vandiver’s scores. I suppose we’ll see if they get removed later on. But that does mean Waylon is now on top!

ETA: Steady Eddie also had 15 added on.

Yipes-Jennie Brannigan is listed as having a rider fall on Twilightlightslastgleam. After recently had such a terrible fall, poor woman.

Jennie’s fall was not that scary looking - lost stirrup and was kind of disorganized through the coffin complex and popped off trying to get over the corner.

Buck had an interesting fall from Jak My Style - from the angle of the stream, he came through the brush of the fence but the horse didn’t (EN has a gif of it on their cross country live update page).

@Impractical Horsewoman, I think you may be thinking of Woodge Fulton and not Woods Baughman.

Two thoroughbreds in the top 5 after XC! I love Paddy the Caddy so, so much. I’d be happy to see Waylon hold on to the lead, but I’ll be rooting for Erin and Paddy to take the top spot.
