Fair Hill and Forrest Nymph and others we're rooting for

I don’t post here (being one of those H/J types ) but I do like to lurk and see what you guys are talking about in Eventing land. I just read the Chronicle article about the pony Forrest Nymph doing Fair Hill this year. That’s exciting! I am a big pony fan (DD does the Pony Jumpers with her bright little mare) and can’t wait to see how she does. My vet is also riding at Fair Hill so I have another reason to follow the action this year.

We are watching Farrah! Big fan, can’t wait to see her go. My little guy is only 15h so she is his idol hehe

Can we update the subject of this thread to talk about everyone we’re rooting for? My trainer is attempting her first CCI** at FH this year!

There are several I’m pulling for but I’m mostly rooting for Jon and Zach and if course Andrew and my boy. (Just really wanting a qualifying run in the 2*!)

Rooting for a whole bunch of my favorite women -
Maggie Deatrick - now a barnmate as well
Sinead Halpin - good late birthday present
Kate Chadderton - on a great OTTB
Justine Dutton and Jollybo (I have a small share)
Erin Sylvester and one of my favorite OTTBs
Sally Cousins and the great OTTB Mare Tsunami
Jennie Brannigan on the big guys and the YEH entries
and of course,
Caitlin Silliman and Hoku

Thanks for updating the subject! Go Jennifer Clover and Scimitar!

Wishing we were there - next year!! Rooting for Jimmie Schramm and Bellamy!!

My friend is trying her first CCI** so I am rooting for her big time! Big class…can’t wait to see how everyone does!

Whoo hoo! Yes, big rooting going on for Sinead and Farrah! And also my friend Cody and his little mare! I have been watching them since he first got her and started working with her, they’re doing so awesome.

I’m rooting for CMP who, I heard, will be riding a donkey at the FEI level. I’ve always wanted to see him ride a big X-C course on his own @$$.

Hoping for a good showing from Flaxen! Really like that horse.

Go Jimmie and Bellamy! #teamSchramm

Since he’s my mare’s future baby daddy at some point, I’m also cheering for Tate.

And anyone on a TB.

And that everyone gets home safely even though it looks like lots of rain from what I’ve seen/heard.

Rooting for everyone! Go, Caitlin & Hoku!

Go Ellie vanGemeren and Gemini Pilot!

Maggie, duh. And D-Day with Ryan Woods. And of course the pony.

There are a bunch of people I’m cheering for but of course my horse Muggle and Nilson in their first 3* have some extra special cheers from me.

Rooting for my vet, Peter Blauner, and hoping he comes home safely.

Wishing everyone safe travels around FHI  I hope the COTH riders/horses/connections make their constituents proud

With the weather conditions & the implications it has on footing (unless it remains perfect - seems unlikely but I’ve never been & an unfamiliar?), I’ll be interesting to see how many & who tough it out, and how many pack it up early due to the conditions - vs. just a bad round or if you find your horse just isn’t up to tackling all the conditions combined quite yet; one always hopes judgement is used there. I’m specifically referring to the mentality of UL riders who openly complain about footing & opt to save their horses legs for another day. That whole toughness thing that Teams seem to lack on the bigger stages, that leads to failures, and wacky trickle down rules changes. Yup, sour grapes, no apologies shall be issued.
There’s also a PRO meeting at FHI. Curious when they will make their statement about these rule changes, or if they will. If not, their stance is clear. Interesting implications & politics occurring @ FHI this weekend. An event with so many good people behind it; the politics are unfortunate, but a reality.

Was waiting for someone to start the Fair Hill thread! Here’s some jumps.

I did get a couple very nice pictures of Nilson and Prince just after they were accepted today and BF has them on her FB wall!

I am rooting for EVERYONE. That’s right. Because I don’t like to see anyone have a bad day at Fair Hill! It’s too cool of an event.

Footing IS NOT AN ISSUE for XC right now and it won’t be on Saturday. I drove my little car out there all day on Monday to do fences and it’s the girliest vehicle EVER and had no problem at all…Frank aerated all the gallop lanes on the weekend so there is no laying water anywhere and all skinny approaches have been packed with gravel so they will not punch in. Most of my photos were taken today and you can see the footing is fine. For those that do not know, this is OLD TURF that has never been turned in hundreds of years, only mowed, and is just as good as any CCI footing anywhere in the world, from what I have been told.
