She plead guilty. Former Tuskegee veterinary student promised to rehome 13 horses, but may have sold them to slaughter - al.com
She pleaded guilty. 31 months in jail was the sentence but she got off lightly.
Thank you. I got scammed by her.
Well, she was really a vet student and she seemed fine, nice trailer, neatly turned out.
Willie’s owner was able to travel from Maine to be in the court room. This is public, anyone can access it.
I am very sorry for your loss and that experience.
I’m so sorry to hear you were taken in by this sociopathic pondslime
My 2¢ says 31mos is hardly enough, but I’m a longtime horseowner & may be a tinge prejudiced
Is it too much to hope she’s never granted a license in any state or country on this planet to practice veterinary medicine?
Yes I thought she got off with an extremely light punishment. Especially since she was convicted in another state and this wasn’t a one time deal scam. I too hope she is never licensed as a vet in any state. When people are as dishonest/ sociopathic as she was in one area of their life - they are dishonest in other areas too. I would never trust this person with any of my animals.
This part of that write up is interesting.
Does Fallon not have family?
I would guess someone who supports Fallon (and I am sure there are people) will make sure Fallon’s daughter can keep her pony and continue to ride.
that’s why the horses have to go. She’s going to ignore that, I’m sure. I mean, who the hell is going to enforce this? no one
Grandma, or another family member can keep the pony at their place. Or, better yet, board him.
She lives with an aunt. Her late father trained TWH’s, so maybe there is a family barn nearby. And I’m sure she has barrel racing friends ready to help out.
You never know. I’m so sorry.
I plucked a starved, older, Morgan mare from a rundown barn. She was injured and scared out of her wits. Her owner trusted a former coworker to honor a verbal lease agreement. Nope. Sold the mare, disappeared, then lawyered up and claimed property abandonment when the owner tracked her down. The people she sold her to had the original papers with the original owner and made up some lame story why it wasn’t their name. I paid $250 to get her out of there and called the AMHA to report her as possibly stolen. The mare recovered and I tracked down the original owner, who then signed the mare over to us as a reward! She was a very sweet old mare and had a great life with us.
Maybe I’m just getting old and bitter in my old age but I don’t see how she scammed that woman in the article. She was trying to unload her old lame horse. She placed an ad and willingly gave it away. Once you relinquish ownership you lose control over what happens to that animal. She didn’t free lease this horse with a return contract that she violated nor did Fallon “steal” the horse. Maybe they should have used a better example for their article.
Edited to ad: she gave it up because she didin’t have the time she thought the horse deserved. Insert eyeroll.
Well, Fallon herself would disagree with you, as she pleaded guilty to the charges.
Probably best that the daughter isn’t exposed to a horse environment where her mother and potentially the people that influenced her and bought her up think that all of this is acceptable.
I guess they are all just learning that actions have consequences.
I do not disagree, and that is the intent of the ruling. I was simply saying that I have no doubts they will find their way around this part of the ruling for the daughter.
Probably Big Lick TWH’s. That would explain her complete disregard for an animal’s wellbeing. The apple probably didn’t fall that far from the tree.
My hunch as well, backyard style.
