Daddy was Puissance, with TB lines full of leading sires and classics winners, then King of Diamonds on the Irish draught side.
all of our Morgans traced directly back to Figure who was Justin Morgan’s horse
My good hunter mare is by Popeye K out of GG Valentine. I sold her to a junior rider. She was absolutely lovely to ride and jumped a 10.
I have a granddaughter of Hideaway’s Erin Go Bragh (very successful Connemara eventer and Breyer model)
My mare has Cumano on her sire side and Baloubet du Rouet on her dam side. She is one of the best & most difficult horses I’ve ever ridden. Uploading: DB758E7C-F5C4-4E98-B513-723225F2243A.jpeg…
My stallion’s damline is pretty famous on the jumper front. His dam is by the Grand Prix jumper (1.5m) Holsteiner stallion Cevin. His Holsteiner dam, U-Capitola (stamm 173), is the full sibling to the famous Capitol I and she has made her mark as an exceptional broodmare producing, well known approved stallions Quite Capitol, Lord Capitol and Cevin just to name a few. The quality shows in her bloodlines, even her grand-get are GP show jumping (1.6m) champions (Quite Easy I and II). Cevin’s Holsteiner sire, Calando I (stamm 7673), was an international winning show jumper (1.7m). He has many offspring that have excelled in eventing, dressage and international show jumping (1.7m).
I love the C-line Holsteiners! My daughter had one by a Capital I/Cor de Bryere son and rode a few others over the years. Her other old horse was by a Florestan I son. Those boys were both so special
My current guy is an OTTB by Malibu Moon. Granddam on dam’s side was Canadian broodmare of the year 1996. He has big names all over the place: AP Indy, Seattle Slew, Mr. Prospector (x3), Danzig, Bold Ruler. All of my OTTBs have been really well-bred, and I have a special place in my heart for Giants Causeway grandsons (on the top line) for their kindness and temperaments.
Definitely!!! What is your Giant’s Causeway guy like? Tall? Chestnut? 2 little white hind socks? Attractive blaze? My CG grandson looked like that and so do so many I’ve seen😁
All 3 of mine are from the Beste Gold line. This line has Belucci/Bolero, and Adundance.
My gelding has Caratello B as a grandsire on his dam’s side.
Wow that’s hunter royalty there
Always thought a Rio Grande daughter should be named Dancer on the Sand…
Her show name was Rich Girl which was what her breeder’s farm manager called her—but breeder punted to Romantic Encounter for registered name. Blech! Had to fix that!
Great-grandson of Man O’War on sire’s side, great-grandson of Burgoo King on dam’s side.
These photos lend authority to my push to BRING BACK FULL CHAPS. How are people half-chapping or booting-and-breeching it all the time? (I know, I know. The miracle of boot zippers.)
Thanks for listening.
I just like the song-her name is Rio…across the Rio Grande…
I listened to Europe in Europe and my DH listened to Africa in Africa, Rio in Brazil is one of our goals
My AA horse’s sire is Rio Grande.
My retired A/O horse has Raise A Native (top and bottom), Princequillo (top and bottom), and Seattle Slew (grand sire top).
My old guy I just lost had Secretariat (grand sire top) and Jatullah (grand sire bottom).
I came to post that. Every Morgan has at least that famous ancestor.
