FAQs about the NEW SITE

• How do I log out? [LIST]
• Top of the page, on the left, next to your real name

• How do I change my email or password? [LIST]
• Click your real name at the top of the screen, on the left

• Where did search go? [LIST]
• Right side of the page, underneath the social media buttons

• How do I access advanced search? [LIST]
• Click the search button without entering any search terms

• Threads are being displayed from newest -> oldest and I have no post numbers or signatures. How do I fix that? [LIST]
• User settings > Account > Display mode > Click "Posts", hit save at the bottom of the page

• Why doesn't ignore work? [LIST]
• Ignore isn't functioning across all of vBulletin and they are currently troubleshooting (it might be awhile!)

• How do I go to the last post in the thread? [LIST]
• Click the blue rectangular box with two arrows in it found under the username in the "last post" column

• How do I go to the first new post on a thread? [LIST]
• Click the blue circle with two down arrows in it found directly to the left of the thread title

• Why aren't signatures showing? [LIST]
• They have to be enabled in your profile; User settings > Account > Show signatures, hit save

• How do I hide avatars? [LIST]
• They can be disabled from your profile; User settings > Account > Uncheck Show Avatars, hit save

• How do I add an avatar from my phone or other mobile device? [LIST]
• Cannot be done at this time, you can only upload an avatar from a computer (but will be enabled in the future)

To logout from a mobile device have to click on menu then scroll up to logout at bottom of that page. That’s if your on mobile platform. Thanks Mod 1

Can’t find any way to change my email from an iPad…

I don’t think you can do this from the mobile platform.

From a computer, click on your name in the upper left hand corner.

Is there a way to search just a specific forum, and not all of them? I feel better results would be obtained. Thanks!

I have now changed my email from a desktop. I clicked my name in the upper left hand corner, which allowed me access to the main Chronicle “change email and password” page. I logged in and out and double checked that the email was changed. But my Forum notifications are still going to the old email. Is there some other place to change my Forum email? Ive searched over and over but can’t find one, and yet the notifications continue going to that email.

(This seems needlessly complicated and opaque for something so basic - I’ve changed my email on at least 50 sites in the past week now and not had such troubles…and I should be able to do this from my iPad!!)

Maybe PM the Moderator directly about changing your email trouble?

They can fix that from their end.

How do you become a premium member? I read the instructions in the sticky but I think those are for the old site? It doesn’t make sense. Thanks!

There are no premium members with the new site. Everyone can post photos now.

How do we post in the Events forum?

That is a good question that I can not help you with. @Moderator 1 should know.

@Tiffani B We’re in an in between phase right now, where we haven’t yet de-activated the old Premium memberships, and they’re currently the ones with access to the Events forum. We’re phasing out the Premium memberships going forward though.

I will check in to see what the plans are going forward for the Events forum.

Is it possible to close a topic one has started? I have one that’s become long and now people are making random assumptions without reading it all.

How do I edit a signature and include a new link in a signature? Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere and feel free to snigger at my technical ineptitude behind my back!
