I love these for riding.[/QUOTE]

I third (fourth?) these. Just discovered them and they are THE BEST riding underwear I’ve ever come across!

I just ordered from www.knixwear.com based on this thread. I now have high expectations.

What’s the deal with the leak proof options? Are they just for sweat/pantyliner equivalent?

ETA: And anyone who has these, which style and does it have exposed elastic or an elastic like ‘seam’ at the leg opening in the crotch? (I cannot have exposed elastic or anything that tends to want to cut in at the leg openings or I get psoriasis along where the elastic/fabric presses in and rubs and it is No Fun At All.)

These are great - DKNY Fusion. Very stretchy, light, comfy. No elastic at the leg. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/dkny-fusion-briefs-3-for-30/3398106?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=MINERAL&resultback=836

Patagonia Active Hipster. They also make several other styles, if boyshorts or bikinis are more you thing. Love them. Pricey, but wear very well, and don’t shift and chafe. I am bummed they no longer come in white, because I’d like another white pair for dressage shows :frowning: I’m intrigued by the Knixwear recommendations, and may have to try a pair of those in beige, to see how they work for me!

I always wear skin-tone bottoms under light colored pants/breeches, as it looks weird to me when you can see the outline of the underpants as brighter white than the rest. Although I suppose both are better than seeing that there are NO underpants. (I don’t care if you ride commando, I just honestly prefer not to know that much about other people’s underthings in general, y’know? I don’t really want to see your bra, either. Straps are okay, my shoulders are shaped such that my bra straps are always trying to escape so I understand that they just sneak out from time to time, but the whole thing? No thanks.)

I won’t lie, I love Amazon. I picked up the powder, a pair of Jockey wicking shorts, Knix bikinis, and UA pure stretch. If these don’t work, I’ll try some of the other options. I’ll beat this if it kills me (or empties my bank account)!

I found these at a local running store…found them in the clearance. they are fantastic…zobha women’s underwear…get whatever style works for you. you can get them on amazon.com. seamless, quick drying. lightweight.

Another thumbs up for the Jockey Skimmies Wicking slipshort. Are they cute? NO! But no panty lines and your breeches just sort of slide on.

So I actually just ordered 3 more pairs, I love them so much! The mini lining is almost like a built in panty liner that gives you a little padding in case you’re prone to lady-bits chafing, the full lining covers everything which is great for seat bone chafing or butt-sweat coverage ! Never again will you have to worry about the dreaded summer butt-sweat haha! Plus they are wicking and I haven’t really noticed any VPL with them! Highly recommend!

I believe the fitknicks pair I have doesn’t have seams/elastic at the leg openings, they are super soft everywhere, so they’d probably work for you

I’ve always had issues with the seams that go around the leg. I tried a lot of different undies but then found these last year and love them. They have a tendency to roll up my leg, but other than being able to see it a bit under my breeches, I don’t even notice it. Eliminates any rubbing, they don’t get as swampy as typical cotton types, and are also great for under shorter skirts or dresses ;).

I’m not sure they are this brand, but same idea. (Basically boy shorts but longer in the leg) http://www.target.com/p/c9-champion-women-s-seamless-performance-body-short-2-pack/-/A-17187192#prodSlot=_1_3

I really like Lulu Lemon’s underwear. Their Light As Air thong and boyshorts are really comfortable and don’t rub.

I use those (not just for riding) and also the longer leg ones that are kind of like super thin bike shorts, but not ‘slimming’ like Spanx? (Jockey makes some, I think? The ones I have atm are New Balance.) The longer leg ones are fine under whatever when it is cooler, but in the summer it’s just too many layers even though the undershorts are very thin, unless I am wearing them under a skirt or dress. (Which I do prefer to do, I feel much less in danger of flashing anyone too much skin if it’s windy that way. )

I promise a full report! As soon as it gets out of the 40s and stops raining.

I wonder if NikePro compression shorts would act the same?

I personally like the Victoria’s Secret PINK line of microfiber/seamless cheekies. Boyshorts ride up, bikinis are just not my thing, but god, I hate the feeling of riding in a thong.

Wut up, internet- these are my underwear preferences, and yes, I’m a 24 year old professional student shopping in the pre-teen/teen section of VS.

I got the UnderArmour Cheekies based on this thread and they are nice enough but I’m still getting rubbed on the inside thigh.

Came back specifically for the promised full report

I’m taking in all the info.
BUT - my major problem is that little patch of cotton liner that doubles the actual “area”. My personals do not like the unattached part (usually the patch is stitched at the back but not in the front - is that the gusset?), which causes a rub, along with evil leg elastics.
Of course, upon ordering there is usually no way to see it “the patch” exists or not… Any input on these on the previously mentioned models?
Of course no-stirrup days make everything worse…

I retract some of what I said - I have a saddle sore on one seat bone. The Skimmies plus Body Glide didn’t help keep this healed. So I tried Anti-Monkey Butt and this http://www.doversaddlery.com/knix-seamless-shortie/p/X1-350028/?ids=apzkojao53nhkt4vjuih0jaf which has a double material “patch” but really works well, and this http://www.doversaddlery.com/anita-saddle-pants/p/X1-35950/?ids=apzkojao53nhkt4vjuih0jaf which is a little heavier but doesn’t have any seams on any weight or rub-bearing area. I think I like the Knix better because it is lighter, but I worry that it might be more delicate and not last as long as the other.
