I’m considering purchasing another pair of tall boots to be used mostly for shows (still have my Ariats for riding at home) and am looking for some suggestions for good quality boots under 1k (would love it if it were even closer to the 600-800 range.) Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks
I’ve had my Ego7 tall boots for about a year and love them. The broke in easily, are lasting nicely and are pretty. I wear them for shows and fox hunting.
I have the deniro salento and they’re holding up great and very flattering since they’re a little stiffer than parlantis, etc. Good price too.
They are just at the 1,000 mark but are worth the investment. I recently purchased Parlantis and they are great… so comfortable and the fit is perfect. It was worth going to a tack store and have them fitted. I would have bought too big. I have had many boots over the years, Treadsteps, Ariats, Dehners, and also various half chaps, full chaps and these boots are the best.
I use them for schooling - they are too nice not to wear them everyday I wear small muck boots to the barn and put my tall boots on just before riding - I don’t groom or bathe the horses in my tall boots.
I haven’t bought any yet, but they look amazing in person. Just didn’t have my size in stock.
Second deniros. Fab fit and easiest boot to break in compared to my cheap-o ariats, monacos, and sergios. Have had them for going on 3 years (in July) and have only had to replace a zipper once because of MY stupidity-- no fault of the boots or design!
I just bought Ego 7’s, and so far I really like them!
I own parlantis as well and I school in the deniros because they’re tougher. Never had an issue in 4+ pairs of Deniros (I am a boot hoarder…)
Another vote for DeNiro
I have Arait V Sports for schooling. When I start showing again, I’m going to get a pair of the De Niro’s. A friend in the UK has some beautiful Salento’s.
Parlanti also has a cheaper version of their tall boot (Miami essential) that sells for $600 and will hold up a little longer than the regular boots. Whatever boots you buy you definitely want to try them on in person. Especially with the parlantis there are so many size options to choose from you’ll never get the right fit if you buy online
I’ve seen that boot and was tempted but am really worried about it wearing through as I’ve heard some people wearing through theirs in a matter of months.
I agree about trying in person. I would rather have someone who is familiar with the boots fit me than try and do it myself.
Sounds like the DeNiros are really popular and they look beautiful! I will definitely have to try a pair
Deniro! I have 2 pairs and love them
I’ve got some barely used Tucci’s for sale if you are in Texas.
Yes the Miami’s can wear pretty quickly which is why Parlanti states that they are show boots and do not suggest they be used for every day riding. If you use them every day and are riding several horses a day 6-7 days a week they aren’t going to last much more than a couple months. The essentials are a little tougher and can be used for every day use or shows. If your just looking for a show boot I wouldn’t worry about them wearing out too fast especially if you go with the essential
I’d go for EGO 7s too.
I wouldn’t go for the essential. They have a canvas lining for cost savings but the same thin leather outer. I don’t think you’re magically going to get more life out of them. The ego7 have a much better inner panel for less money.
A 5th (?) for DeNiros. I have a pair of Salentos going on 4 years of 1-2x a week use plus clinics and shows. They can take a lot of abuse, and clean up GORGEOUS.
De Niros. I don’t remember what type mine are. Easy to break in, look nice. I went to the store to try them on and then the store owner ordered the right size combination.
Parlantis are the best. The Miami Field Boots cost exactly $1,000 new, but there are other types that are in the $600 range. They break in super easily and hold up very well. I love mine.
