FEI T.V.

silly me, I thought the jog would be televised.

That’s the FEI youtube crappola daily “show” . https://www.youtube.com/user/feichannel?reload=9

Oh. The Chronicle article said that the channel would have coverage of some of the dressage
 darn.

The music needs to be turned WAY down. At times it has been difficult to hear the commentary over it.

So far USA has high score in the reining with a 229 plenty of riders left to go. This isnt a USA runaway by any means lots of good runs!

What happened to Belgian Isabel Cool ? Says RT on the scores page.

Stupid question over here- for the dressage is the music just on the livestream or are they riding to it? I can’t actually tell

her horse blew up in the arena. He spooked at something and she tride for a minute or two to get him back, but she ended up raising her hand. Even then It was difficult to get his attention back.

I agree the music is WAY too loud. And no it isn’t being ridden to. It is just background, probably so they wouldn’t have silence.

I’m watching the dressage on the Olympic channel; it wasn’t part of our package so I added it this morning - $20, but at least there are large blocks of coverage! We already get NBCSN, but they are showing an hour here and an hour there - very limited coverage.

I have a Chromebook so figured it was NOT worth it to try to get live streaming :frowning:

I guess they started late because of the tractor/cable incident?? I called my daughter (since I was still at the barn at 3:00, 50 minutes away) and asked her whether it was on, just to check - it was supposed to start at 2:00, go until 5:30. She said: “it must have JUST come on, since the announcer is explaining what dressage is for the laypeople!”

I’ve watched two rides and now they are showing behind-the-scenes stuff.

Holy CRAP the rain started to come down in buckets mid test for Minderhoud. From one angle you can absolutely see how bad it is and from another it doesn’t look rainy at all. Doesn’t seem to be affecting their performance though.

Right!?! Yikes!! Glock’s Dream Boy (DROOL!) seems to be unaffected by it, what a good boy. And a spectacular one. I am partial to black horses (and have one), and he is just lovely.

I wonder how many others will have to ride in the pouring rain? Asked and answered since the Korean rider is next and it’s still coming down.

(I’m an eventer and we ride in it because we have to, but I’m thinking some of the dressage horses might be a bit distracted by it
)

His horse was absolutely gorgeous and on point. Dressage horses ride in rain too, so I wouldn’t say rain on its own is an issue. It is more the venue/atmosphere/travelling/etc etc + the rain that can definitely cause already nervous horses to lose focus. Thankfully, didn’t seem to cause any issues and as far as I see now the sky looks quite clear now.

Shouldn’t have a problem if you have trained for it!

Sooo the music
gotta be intentional that the Italian got Mambo Italiano played during his ride and now Maria from Argentina has Evita playing
 really?!

Exactly.

Did anyone else see the Italian’s test?

Yikes. I don’t think he could possibly have ridden that horse’s neck any shorter. The commentators were very tactful even as they were addressing this (and the errors), too bad since the horse could be quite nice indeed.

Obviously it’s not “easy as all that”, but still

Are they selecting their own music for these tests, or?

Guess it depends if you are a Peronista. If not you’d probably get grumpy.

The venue does the background music, and they’ve been doing some with themes. The Swedish riders were to ABBA.

Anyone want to guess which Brit will get the Spice Girls?! Kidding, of course
 I think
 I hope
