OK, I know it’s silly - he’s small and kinda funny looking - but does anybody know anything about Dan and John? “A cute goofball” would fit right in around here.

OMG, he is too cute. The older I get, the more I like the small ones:winkgrin:, and this “cute goofball” looks like he would be a lot of fun.
i LOVED that horse (dan and John.) Hes got a great build and hes adorable…
I spoke with Dan and John’s trainer yesterday. She was super nice to talk to. She says he is probably 14.3hh, and a really nice guy to ride. He is just an imp- puts the leadrope in his mouth, wants to be in your pocket all the time. Sounds really cute!
I’m going up Saturday with a list- can’t wait to bring someone home!

Oh, I do hope you take either Karakorum Patriot or this cute little clown, Dan and John. He reminds me of my Chocolate Centurion with his impish ways. I loved that little clown so if you take him home, I won’t be tempted to go over and check out some of these guys.
Louise and maunder both know I’d love to take a couple home as I have room and time but for multiple reasons I know I can’t take on anymore horses.
Thanksgiving Thanks
Wow, COTH is pulling through once again to give some of the FL horses a true Thanksgiving. Thanks to all for giving these guys a second chance. Keep shopping, COTH members!
Just a plug for Skee Love as I think she has the look of eagles and looks like she could jump the moon from a stand still.

Aww I think he’s adorable! He’s got a cute face and I don’t think he’s put together all that bad! He looks like he’d be a fun pony club horse…
A shameless plea on Turkey Day
There is a high probability that Karakorum Patriot will be sold to run in Puerto Rico. Ten years old, over $300,000 in earnings, class oozing from every pore. Please, please someone open your heart to this grand old man.
Dan and John is adorable! He’d be a perfect kid packer!
And Skee Love really needs to move.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and thanks to all of you for your support!
oh no… please no one way island trip for this beautiful horse!!!
Karakorum Patriot needs someone now – Please!

OK, reality check on Karakorum Patriot. IF he ends up going to Puerto Rico, when he can no longer run, he will be fed to the sharks. We had a vet that was trained down there and he was quite vocal about the fate of horses there and it ain’t pleasant.
SO, SOMEONE PLEASE COME FORWARD AND BUY HIM.
That is NOT good news on Karakorum Patriot. He deserves so much better!! Please someone help this iron horse out!!
I will be glad to contribute to a purchase fund for Karakorum Patriot, if one can be set up so he can moved either to apermanent home or a foster until a forever home is found.
Well, I’m planning on calling his trainer in the morning and offering a forever home but will not pay more than $1.00 for him and his papers. He would live out his life on a very nice farm and never be ridden again IF the trainer agrees and if it looks like he would be easily handled. I’ve taken several from Finger Lakes and all were easy to get on with.
So, wish me luck. I think I’ll need it.
Best of luck msj…let us know how it goes!
No way that horse can go to Puerto Rico…what can I do to help? I can send some money to help with his keep…someone get him, and pm me if you need help with funds. I’m full full full at my farm, I honestly cannot take another one on…but I will put the word out amongst my friends…
how long do we have in order to get him placed?
msj, you have mail:)

FatDinah had the same thought I did–I would contribute to his purchase if someone has a home for him and the trainer isn’t interested in a $1 offer.
I would be willing to provide a foster home for him if all expenses were covered…I am over my head in horsey expenses right now, but he could be boarded where I keep my horses. Pasture board is $150, plus hay in winter months. All expenses would have to be covered though…don’t know if this is feasible or not.

caryledee, you’ve certainly done your share already.
Folks, I have the room at my farm for 2 additional horses, but the biggest problem isn’t cash, it’s the fact that my youngest horse is 17 and I’m 64 yrs old. I fully expect my 17 yr old to be around another 10 yrs and I hope I’m still able to maintain the farm so I have a place to bury him cause I’ll be 74. Now, if I take on a younger horse, say, Patriot whose 10, he’ll probably go another 17 yrs which will put me at 81. My mother died at 74 because of smoking related problems and I smoked ~ 2 pack/day up until 6 yrs ago. I’m very fortunate that I only have mild COPD but I’m honestly not sure I can last till I’m 81! :sigh: That is the biggest problem with taking on more horses.
To all the offers of financial help from up-at-5 and Fat Dinah, I do appreciate it and may take you up on it, but to be honest, I may need the help 10 yrs from now when Patriot is 17 and my current OTTB is being planted in the back pasture.
We’ll all just have to wait and see what unfolds. The horse has no price listed and it’s going to be up to the trainer if he wants a forever home or not. I’ve got a lovely farm with all post and rail fencing, 5 grass pastures, an indoor that the horses get turned out in for a romp on good footing all winter and I personally think I take tremendous care. I don’t know anyone else that is anywhere near as anal as I am.
