Finger Lakes Finest 2013

Congrats Cornerpost!! That’s awesome and we’re all jealous.
Another one I like is Valid Ocean Pass. I have an awesome event horse by Stormy Atlantic, sire of Indian Ocean, and like this guy’s look too.

Cornerpost, you will not be disappointed! Wait 'till you see him in person, you will fall instantly in love with this horse. Please keep us posted.

Cornerpost, you do realize that a full report with pics is a perk of obtaining a finest? The oft written about and coveted tricky break has legions of fans who are waiting for updates!

Agreed!! I keep checking back to see if he made it home safe and sound, and to hear what you and your Dad think of him, Cornerpost.

For those of you sitting on the fence, pick your Finests and then get on here and BRAG!

Ok… I swear I am not shopping. But… but… anyone know anything about Shiksa Goddess? I keep coming back to her listing.

I retired my TB mare after chronic lameness issues, and swore off OTTBs, but I’ve been riding my friend’s FLF grad from last year (Mama Gina) and it is sort of giving me the itch…

For those of you that are repeat buyers, or frequent visitors to the track. Which trainer do you really like? Most honest about the horses, less injections, etc. I am not local to the area, but have family with in an hour, so I can make the trip and kill 2 birds…
PM if you don’t want to post.

Two of us on COTH got horses from Jared Schoeneman in one season, both ended up having purchase/transport issues (my shipper flaked and left me scrambling for an alternative, the other person’s horse had a highly eventful last race) and he was extremely accommodating and honest. The horses wound up getting to their new homes safe and sound and as described. IME if he tells you something about a horse you can believe him.

On Sunday I head to the track to grab Tricky Break! Of course I haven’t met him yet so I am counting on you all to have picked me a good one! For Dad of course. My husband would shoot me if I brought one more home!

Oh, and tomorrow if all goes well I will be getting a ride on Sing To Me.
Let us know what you think!

Someone needs to grab Here comes the stones!!! We met her on Saturday, thank goodness I don’t have the $ or room! LOVE them chestnut mares!!!

I agree jumping addict! She is very pretty. May I also give props for the older warhorses, bedrock nlues and al’s lark. They are so classy, beautiful and full of life. I was at the genesee hunt races on saturday and one of the long timber races was won by an 11 y.o. mare by mojave moon. She commanded the race from the break and just took my breath away. These older campaigners are hardy and have many years ahead of them to strut their stuff!

Agreed. Bedrock is a really nice looking horse, and that bow that is mentioned in his write up, well, we REALLY had to look hard to see it. He jogged for us nice and sound. Very surprised he hasn’t been snapped up yet. Same with Cougar Hunter…same with all of them, in fact!

Oh oh oh cornerspost! You have the darling sing to me! And you are expanding your herd ith more finests! Good news.
Actually I am just spreading the addiction around! I have Jordanna Bananna and Catillac Cutie at my house. Sing To Me I helped my SIL get, and I am helping her with the retraining. Tricky Break is with my Dad and I will be helping them out too.

I love these OTTB so much I want everyone to have a couple of them!

You have made my day cornerstone! Please give the lovely herd scritches from me. Harry looks like a great companion for tricky!

I am just ecstatic that Tricky Break finally found a home – and such a great one too! Tricky has been my personal favorite from the listings this year, and I have been pushing him to anyone and everyone that has called us and asked for advice. Everyone who looked at him told me they really liked him, but no one stepped up…until now! I still can’t believe such a beauitful, sweet horse who’s a great mover lasted so long on the listings. And wouldn’t you know, if Cornerpost had not gotten there on Sunday, there was someone else who was going to have him vetted on Monday. So they chose his beautiful stablemate Unreal instead!

Cougar Hunter has found a home, as has Lamster. Lamster’s happy new owner has already sent me a photo of him surveying his new home.
So the “boy band” is not to be, but Bedrock Blues sure would make a nice solo act!

Flash, I took Shiksa Goddess’s listing photos, and really like her. She’s a very nice mover, she was very well behaved, and she has an elegant and intelligent presence. The groom who showed her to us said she was good to handle – a nice girl. With her black good looks, she would look just stunning in dressage white polos with a white dressage pad, and black dressage tack! But she also looks like she would be great for just about any discipline.
Go scratch that itch!

Here’s my long ago Finger Lakes finest! He last raced in 2004, I bought and showed him in childrens in 2010. He had a couple years of issues, but now he’s helping my mom. He was a complete failure as a race horse, but here he is winning a class out of 23. Love him!

Thanks BC, I was hoping you’d weigh in. Also eyeing up Rustler. Yes, I seem to love the girls…

Good for you flash! You are succumbing to the lure. Finests are like potatoe chips you know: you can’t have just one. Or 2 or 3…just ask buffalo colleen : )

Oh and up-at-5 and rosemarie and big d and many others who have a potatoe chip appetite!

Oh, what a sweetheart Dorothy’s Essense appears to be, and what a lovely solid-looking type.
