Excited to share that my filly AFTER THE STORM LSE (E.H. Herzensdieb/Aurelia NSF/Windfall PgE*) was awarded Premium foal with the American Trakehner Association! Type 8.8 / Conformation 8 / Movement 8.5. Very excited about the full sibling due in 2022!

Way to go, baby girl!

Congratulations, @Trak_Eventer!!

Baby Etta moved to her new home today. She loaded like a champ when it came time to leave, in the pouring down 50 degree rain and all. I anticipated that it would be hard to say goodbye; had no idea HOW hard. I’ve had sales horses before, but a home bred baby is a whole different category of attachment, it turns out. :disappointed_relieved:

Luckily, she’s only a couple of hours away, and her new owner is a former student of mine who will stay in close touch. I already received a photo of Etta in her new stall. She looks so tiny in her “big girl” digs!

What a sweet face peering over :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

She does have a very sweet face, just like her mother and sister! This photo I took today isn’t super flattering from a conformational standpoint, but it does show off her pretty face and big, dark eyes reasonably well:

Sharing that I sat on my baby for the first time today, and she was absolutely perfect! Looking forward to a fun and chill 3yo year. This is “Stormy” aka After the Storm LSE (E.H. Herzensdieb/E.H. Windfall)

I still have four 2021s on the farm. All going under saddle to varying degrees, all really nice horses that I’m proud to have bred.

“Jared” (now named Adiamond Isforever, by St Patrick’s Day out of Bodacious Barb) had a brief racing career in the fall of 2023. He was so much fun to gallop and really seemed to have some talent, but couldn’t put it together in the races so we brought him home to aim for a second career. Super easy horse, balanced and kind. Will be tons of fun for someone as an eventer, hunter, jumper, or foxhunter!

“Lee” (My Last Lee, St Patrick’s Day - Humorlee) was hoping to make it to the track, but missed some training due to a grabbed heel and then I decided he was too immature to focus on regular training. He gets ridden occasionally just to remember he’s not feral. Still a possibility for a racing career, but I admit he’s a LOT of fun for a future sport horse. Moves naturally uphill, easy balance, and he had a blast when I put him through the jump chute. He’s cheeky and playful, lots of bounce. Will be really cool when (if?) he grows up someday. He’s pretty big, about 16.1 already and will grow more. Hard to believe he was that cute little orphan drinking from his igloo!

“Taco” (At The Right Time, Saketini - Bella Veloche) was a bit behind the boys physically and started under saddle a bit later in 2023. She is wicked smart and willing to try just about anything. Soft mouth, naturally supple and balanced. Easy and safe in all ways. I can ride her a couple days, then let her have 45 days off, and she’ll come back for the next ride like it was yesterday. Safe, sane, and really cool. This one could be an eventer but is fancy enough on the flat for dressage or hunters too. She adores trail riding and going places.

“Bonsai” (At Best, Saketini - Shezagreatgal) is behind the others. He was started under saddle the same time as the other boys, but he has a lot of strong preservation instincts to overcome. Not a mean bone in his body, he genuinely lives to please, but sometimes his eyes bypass his brain and short circuit to his feet. He disappears in a cartoon poof of dust before you even know what happened, and teleports himself 6ft away laterally, bambi-legged frozen. He doesn’t bolt or keep running, he’s not intentionally spooky, it just sort of happens without his conscious control and then he feels sheepish about it. He’s a really nice mover, probably more hunter than eventer, and is just gorgeous to look at. He is a one-person kind of horse, really needs a special bond of trust to gain confidence. When he does, though, wow this will be a nice horse. I haven’t been pushing him under saddle, he just needs time to grow up and gain confidence without asking too much.

Wow, @EventerAJ! Just wow! Not a bum in the lot and I think I want Lee more now than when he was a baby!:star_struck:

They’re lovely! I can’t believe little orphan Lee has grown into such a big horse!

Well done on all of them @EventerAJ.

They’re all quite lovely @EventerAJ

I do really like Lee. It’s really neat to watch them grow up on these threads.

I’ve loved watching them all grow up. It’s hard to believe Lee was ever an orphan to look at him now!

Wow @EventerAJ- They are all absolutely stunning, thank you so much for posting! I think they’re all gorgeous but Lee and Taco can come live with me anytime!  :star_struck:

Hope everyone is having a great start to their spring with their 3 yos! My baby comes home at the end of April, and she has been making great progress! I feel so fortunate to have a wonderful dressage trainer local who does a great job starting the babies… KV Dressage if anyone is curious. I had my first lesson on Stormy yesterday, and it was absolutely the COOLEST feeling in the whole world! New between the ears photo after we had a great ride and riding photos with the trainer before I hopped on.

Looking awesome Trak_Eventer!

My two remaining 2021s are doing pretty well considering they’ve been mostly on the back burner this spring. Bonsai (At Best, Saketini - Shezagreatgal) was introduced to crossrails recently and seems like he has the desire to be a very nice hunter. He continues to need patience and time to build confidence, but he surprises me sometimes with his improvement. Really smart horse, I just have to be careful to keep every experience as positive as possible.

Lee (My Last Lee, St Patrick’s Day - Humorlee) is still a barn favorite bursting with personality. Playful and silly in all ways. He saw his first jump last week, and is a total natural… jumping logs, crossrails with placing rails, and a bending line to a vertical. Never a moment of wiggle or hesitation, he was completely straight, forward, and willing like he was born doing this! He’s so confident I feel like he is a true UL eventing prospect. I would love to create a syndicate to keep him in my program, but with my husband’s illness it’s our financial responsibility to sell both these two 3yos, despite being very attached to them.
