Escudo/GrafGrannus X Zeus/Goldstern - Young flashy stud with great bloodlines!

Breeding season is pretty much over, and in many places its far too hot to be getting mares in foal. However, for the next 30 days or so I have a young stud who will be at the stallion station being collected and frozen as part of a semen export program. This is a great opportunity for me, so I want to pass it along! If you have a mare that you would like to breed in the next 30 days to produce a hunter or jumper type foal, I’m offering semen at no cost. You only pay the Stallion Station’s fee for the collection and the cost of shipping. There is no live foal guarantee, and you will only be able to order semen until the day he leaves the facility (Approx. the first week in Oct). This young stud’s sire and dam are imported from Germany, his dam has produced internationally competitive jumpers and his sire, Escapade has thrown many champion hunters. Embrace is reg. Old na but not approved for breeding yet. If there is enough interest we might take him to the AWR this year so that his foals have somewhere to be approved. See his pedigree here: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/embrace5
And pictures/video on Facebook- http://www.facebook.com/SunFireFarm#!/pages/Embrace/139842499392368?ref=mf~Contact me for more details!

Is that right, he is 2008?

Yes, he’s a 2008. I would have preferred to wait until he was older to train him to collect, but opportunity knocked. He was invited to participate in a very exciting program. He’ll need to be trained to collect, so I see no reason to throw it away on training if someone would like to use it. My lucky opportunity can be passed on to someone who would love a chance to breed to a big well bred stud for just the cost to collect and ship!
Here is another try to link a picture- If it doesn’t work, search for “Embrace by Escapade” on youtube

Escudo/GrafGrannus X Zeus/Goldstern

This is somewhat misleading. He is by Escapade, not by Escudo I. That could make a difference to some breeders.

The correct way to refer to his bloodlines is Escapade / Zeus / Goldstern.

Thankyou.

He sure is pretty!! I’m horse poor or I’d be tempted!

I have trouble with this, in the sense that this colt is not approved anything, or even licensed. There are quite a few "maybe’s still to be unfolded in his life.
As we already have so many stallions who have gone the route, who arent getting enough bookings, and so many horses who are on the cheap sell/giveaway lists, I dont think it would be a very responsible move to breed to him.
Could you not freeze some semen, and offer it when/if he becomes licensed somewhere?

He's actually going to the station to be frozen, that's the point. However, he has to be collected many times in the process of learning. Why not let someone else benefit from that? I have been in the position of having a nice mare but no stud fee money in the past, and an opportunity like this would have been a blessing.

If he wasn’t going to be a part of this program, I would not be making this offer… and once he comes home the offer is over. I’m certainly not interested in attempting to stand a unapproved young stallion. His bloodlines are fantastic though, and he’s a handsome boy… so why waste?

What’s the program?
Has he ever been inspected?

Wow, you guys are a being pretty tough here. The fact remains that there are some people that don’t care about registration that may very well be interested in breeding to him. Lots of unapproved young stallions are “test bred”. I think it was a lovely offer by the stallion owner and am sure she will screen the mares to make sure his first foal crop will be out of mares of decent quality. Would I breed to him, no, because he has done no approvals. I am also sure there will be many others that wouldn’t either but there might be a few that would be. If you aren’t interested then I think you should bypass the post and move on without giving the op a hard time as she wasn’t asking for critiques just offering an opportunity. I can tell from her post she is excited and proud of her boy and is just trying to share her joy, lets not take it from her. SunFire Farm I wish you the best of luck with future licensing and approvals.

Well if you were in Canada and I was in the market to breed my Dutch-Swedish/quarter horse I would certianly take you up on your offer…my girl would be a great match to your stallion…she is chestnut with chrome similar to your guy.

He has been inspected and reg. Old Na.

He is being tested, collected and frozen for export to be used in the foundation of a breeding program for Sport Horses in Asia. He was chosen based on his pedigree and type.

I’m not offended by mare owners who would not choose to breed to my young stud. Everyone is welcome to their own opinions… obviously. I have a couple of mares that I would not bother breeding to an unapproved stallion, but I also have a couple of mares that I would. We choose our stallion based on our mares… for example: a lovely TB mare would make a great potential date for him. A main mare book WB mare would not. I understand, am I’m not bothered.

I do not expect that there are very many mare owners who will be interested in breeding, and will also be ready to do so in the next month. For those few who are… get in contact with me asap. We dropped him off today so he’ll be available for the next 30 days or so.

Have a great weekend!

Sounds like you’re involved with Karen Burke…Claim to Fame was asked, but we didn’t get it together…Best of luck in this new endeavor for you!

I test bred Bravo to 4 mares. I wanted to know what he would produce to see if I would keep him intact. There are some very pretty stallions who just don’t seem to reproduce themselves. If Bravo had been one of those then he would now be a gelding.

I think it’s fine to do a few test babies but I would be careful the mares you select are of nice quality. This is a tough time for horses and you don’t want to put them on the ground if they can’t get good homes.

Of course all breeding is a risk.

Good luck to you and I hope you have spectacular babies.

I just want to say thanks for offering this. I had to put my breeding plans on hold this year due to participating in WEG (as a demo rider for the whole run= 3 weeks without pay, travel, etc.etc.)

But I have used 3 different stallions in their test year, and I have never been disappointed. You do your homework, and if he is a good match for your mare, you can end up with a fabulous foal–ahead of it’s class.

Good luck. Thanks for offering.

There is risk, but isn’t that the point of this offer being free (apart from shipping)?

This is a tough time for horses and you don’t want to put them on the ground if they can’t get good homes.

This is also a factor, but how, other than test breedings, would you determine whether a stallion is worthwhile as a breeding prospect?

I’m not advocating one way or another, just thinking that if I was evaluating an approved or up-for-approval stallion for use with a mare, I’d certainly want to see offspring, even “test” babies.

If your honestly curious because you like my young stud and/or Escapade, I’ll happily get details for you. If you asking with the intention of being rude, your welcome to look it up for yourself. His owner is often posting congrats to owners of this foals for winning this or that. His foals are lovely and do well in the show ring, there is no denying that. PM me if you would like more details.

SunFire Farm what a lovely young stallion, and I for one say thanks for the opportunity! I took a chance on another unproven stallion two years ago by breeding my mare to a stallion who had been purchased from a top farm, but didn’t get taken to his inspections, etc.

He has lovely movement, very nice conformation, and a truly fantastic personality. We felt he would click quite nicely with our mare and we weren’t disappointed in any way. Our foal earned a lovely score at his inspection, our mare got nice comments, and he is growing to be exactly what I had wanted in planning the breeding.

So thank you again, it’s a nice opportunity and there are those of us who do appreciate offers exactly such as this.
