With Wings and Pockets. No jumping for us but plenty of hacking and feasting.
I hope to get there around 9:00 am or a little after and plan on staying until around 4:00 pm.
Mr. Wings has promised barbecue!
Well, darn you all, I’ll be at a wedding in Georgia that weekend!
But if there’s going to be an outing on another date (especially if ETBW is catering ) let me know!
You better get that new-car ownin booty up to Frying Pan! We want to meet PK!!!
Always,

If you ever reach total enlightenment while you’re drinking a beer, I bet it makes beer shoot out your nose. - Jack Handy
Was the 7th the date of all dates? Iw as just thinkin about bumping this up today too I need to play.

I have easier directions that avoid the tolls too!!
I come from Maryland so I take 495 to 66W to 50W. From 50W take the FFX Co. Parkway which is less then 2 miles onto 50. Go right on the exit. Follow parkway till you come to West Ox Road and make a left. West Ox Road is the 5th light off the parkway, it’s on a hill and there’s a sign that says Frying Pan Park next left. Follow West Ox for about a mile then make a right into Frying Pan. I normally park by the upper ring but it can get very tight up there so will probably park by the indoor. They have water there and on weekends they have a food vendor and the biggest winner for FP, heated bathrooms!!!
Well then - I shall bring my chaps and my helmet.
Be warned- I lack the skill (not to mention the long-legged elegance) of Tony Workman.
The Jockey Club live cover rule is a very good thing! No A/I, no way
I haven’t posted in ages–graduated and moved to DC and have been good about not spending “work” time playing online. (Ok, so I check occasionally.)
But, I drive towards Frying Pan when I go out towards Middleburg (I think–I have a horid sense of direction!). I’d love to come meet some of you there–the more horse people I know out here the better! And if anyone has something extra to ride, sign me up–I’ll bring credentials and a vest. Otherwise, I can offer my services as a groundsperson. --Jess
OK, I guess it’s time for me to make an appearance and meet you all. I go to Frying Pan frequently to school the XC course. I love it! I will be there with the paint pony in tow.
MargaretF you are welcome to jump around on my pony. She jumps anything you point her at and is lots of fun. Since I am a chicken who rarely jumps over 2’6 I’d love to see her over some of the bigger stuff!
BTW, when we go to school there we usually call first to make sure the course is open.
This is gonna be SOOOOOOO much fun! And I NEED fun right now!
Heidi, I mean really, a trip from Canada to Herndon, VA is really not to much to ask. I suggest holding your breath till you get your desired results
I’m open for ANY time frame on Sunday…and I plan on dedicating my ENTIRE day to it, so there will be NO leaving till all the festivities are over

OOhhhh I wanna go!
I assume it “with horse”.
October looks pretty open for me, though the second week is better than the first.
Oh this will be FUN.
Never mind. It’s Canadian thanksgiving that weekend.
If another trek is planned later in the month, do let me know. Though I’m thinking we need to plan a similar activity in Canada…
It doesn’t matter what is going on in the rings, you can almost always school on the CC Course (unless DRPC is running a competition, but I don’t think thay have any more this year).
Thanx for the transport offer! I’ll definitely take you up on it if I can’t convince the Cavallo cavalcade to come.
Of little itty bitty jumps under 2’. The difficult run pony club site has pictures of each jump.
Oh, this is going to be SO much FUN! Somebody will need to bring a video camera because I have a feeling this just might go down in COTH history!
So…its looking like The first weekend in October will work the best. Sunday?
Always,
FairWeather
I saw her! Shese riding again! Theres PROOF!
Pockets will be coming to Frying Pan but his jumping efforts will be severly curtailed. We found out this morning that he has a full blown cataract in one eye and deterioration of the vision in the other. As long as he is carefully introduced to new surroundings he will be able to enjoy going out for a while yet.
On the plus side, I had already convinced myself to bring Wings along. He is too young for jumping yet but the experience will be great.
JustJumpIt - I should be at the sale! I will let you know where I will be and all that good stuff.
.:*Chelsea & Sonnet *:.
But we can’t forget Kudos - The wonder pony!
PaintPony, I’m happy to give you a hand. We will see what we can do about ditches–no promises, but they are not usually insurmountable obstacles.
–Jess
I will do my best to attend, with pony in tow. (Darn truck)
If not, I’ll bring my chaps and hat!
