Frying Pan Park/COTH get-together

MargaretF - Moesha can cut and paste you to fit, too! What Kennett Square will have to say about the situation is another story.

Now, on to the important items! Do I prepare for a brunch? Should there be an array of items beginning with breakfast casserole and ending with barbecue? Deviled eggs, quiche, vegies/dip, brownies, smoked tuna salad?

I need to make a list

Unfortunately no jumping for my horse. We had some shoeing problems that were fixing. My friend that had the same shoeing problems just had her horse pull his suspensary ligament so we are playing it safe with my horse and not jumping till the end of October. We’ll still be there, just no jumping.

I’m in Western Stafford about 1 mile from the Fauquier border and about 3 miles off 17.

Okay Fairweather, you started this! What time is the start of our informal activity?

I figure to plan for breakfast AND lunch so will try to be there by 9:00 until mid-afternoon or later.

What do you all think? I would imagine we can arrive and depart as we please.

Oye - I would LOVE to attend, but I’ve got the kids that weekend and, somehow, I don’t see them ok’ing this outing on their weekend agenda. And, I do NOT trust Miss Mini (my daughter’s pony) faster than a trot in open country with multiple friends! You should SEE the video we got of her bucking, spooking, taking off after one of her short stirrup rounds at Culpeper!!!

With ETBW there, I know we shall have a full pictoral essay of the outing though, after we ruin our computers hearing about her menu!!!

Ohhh, if it’s October 6 or 7 I might be able to make it.

Let me know which day you decide!

I will not bring Phyllis, though. She would kill me on that cross country course!

Do not despair, another outing is planned for early November We would love to have you and your entourage!

MargaretF, tsk, tsk! I can see that a crop will be necessary to get you around the course (This from ETBW who plans to remain safely planted on solid earth!)

Perhaps Wings will accompany us, he is a walk/trot, been out on the trail four times, three year old. Meandering about the course using him as a grandstand sounds quite pleasant!

Oh man! If you bring that barbeque, I’ll come hell or high water.

Ya’ll have never had BBQ so good.

Larosa90 and Jordan are up for it ETBW; we just need to work on transportation. Gotta check w/KS (the point-chasing queen) and see if she’s got a show that day.

Billy can’t wait (I told him yesterday) to meet everyone. Out in that field he forgets about his age, his creaky hocks, and his ringbone, pricks his ears, and GOES!

And yes, there are plenty of baby jumps at 2’ and under for us newbies!

digital, video and still. But someone on the ground would have to snap the pics.

I’m good for the first Sunday too. I’ve just got to figger out if i should bring my 22 year old FAT retiree (used to event) or my 2 1/2 year old. I mean Whiskey could still do the small stuff and would probably LOVE it, but Ozzy would learn quite a bit from the school. hmmmmmm, what to do.

wheeeeeeeeee, gonna be fun

Well I am totally psyched. I know there will be one jump that Cressy will not go near, and that is the Frying Pan Park sign/jump. Last time I was there, I was heading Cressy towards it, and when I was about 4 strides out two people jumped up from behind it. They didn’t realise it was a jump, and no one on our side of the jump could see people sitting against it on the other side. If they had stayed put, they would have been fine, actually.

When they popped up, Cressy put it in reverse so fast I almost went over her head. Every time thereafter, if she caught a glimse of that jump, she’d slam on the brakes and back up/go sideways whatever to get away from it.

Needless to say, I guess Cressy does NOT like Jack-in-the-Box jumps…

Looks like not everybody can make it on the 7th, maybe we can do a second one in November?

Hows this for a prospective plan on the 7th.

Meet up at between 12-1 o’clock
Mingle mingle mingle
(those of you who need a “confidence booster” aka “a visit from mr. Sam adams” can partake
Tack up, and go PLAY!
Come back and EAT and play and Eat and make fun of anybody who gets dumped…
We’re coming after shirt tails!

Always,
FairWeather

It might be a bit late, but did you consider meeting up at morven to watch the show jumping of the one star? The advanced division is jumping in the morning, and then the one star horses jump.

No locker room speeches. No playbooks. No contracts or free agents. Not even a word spoken between teammates. Doesn’t that make it the greatest of all team sports?

do we have to wear Rust?

Where will you be comin from, I can probably post pretty good directions

I am actually considering SKIPPING the Fells Point Festival this year so that I’m fresh and able to walk a straight line Sunday!!!

Just tell them there to bring beer and a lawn chair and sports will be on tv! (Until we need to liberate the set to view videos we have shot of the obstacles!)

Bring their own tv and plug it into the RV’s outlets!~ Bring a satellite dish and they can keep themselves occupied for hours!

don’t forget the veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs!!!

I leave you all for a few hours and come back to menu items FLYING! How, how how how!!! am I going to wait for this wonderfully bound-to-be a blast day?
You can count on me bringing something wonderful and yummy. Though, I must say that my libations are first rate.

Margarita’s anyone?
I can also make a mean bloody
Virgins for the wee-ones of course
FW
Thinking of bringing some amazing crab dip, or some con queso…Maybe Chili…Mmmmm…I’ll be sure to coordinate with the absolutely amazing cook (as i’ve heard) ETBW’s so I’m not currying while she’s barbecuing…

Creseida I think I know where you are, it’s probably around where I keep my horses! Anywhere near Poplar Road? Anyways, it looks like I’ll be attending this get together but I don’t have a horse to bring (4 year old Arab…no way…5 year old green TB…no way…layed up WB cross…bzzz) so if anyone wants to donate me a horse :0) I’ll be there just to watch and eat lol
