And all you people coming from points south…you are on your own!
may I suggest Mapquest?

I am quite certian that teeny, tiny you (and HN73) would look quite good on our Pocket Change!
It will be his and my niece’s first time over an outside course and he, being an App, will have opinions of his own that will need addressing.
Besides, Tony Workman has already been up on him on an earlier thread
write that out loud…and kudos to it
You were probably just over “giddified” anticipating this Sunday’s festivities…It’s understandable
–My most accommodating strength is my willingness to humiliate myself
I had NEVER MET MOESHA OR VTRIDER before, and had only met ETBW once a year ago at Mosbys. I’ll tell you, it was like we had all been best friends for YEARS! Just amazing!
ETBW even brought my FAVORITE cheese!
Ohh, Fairweather, are you going to bring the fabulous Phoenix? I am dying to meet him.
Yeah, erin…
I think that would be a really cool article! How we all met on the COTH BB and meet up in person for activities and fun! How I flew from Utah to show someone’s horse I had never met in person, and did great…how ETBW and Moesha show up and assist w/ everything…ETBW’s cooking expertise, how people have found trainers, friends, and everything else through this BB! What a boost that would be for the COTH! And we could probably get even MORE posters from it!
Duffy flies all the way to canada to bond with Heidi, whom she’s met on the BB…this is a journalist’s gold mine, Erin!!! LOL!!!
How about those crazy ditch things!!! AAAhhhh don’t miss!
Ohhhhhhhhhh!! No fair! My pony who loved frying pan to death left about 2 weeks ago. I love it there. Sonnet doesn’t jump enough yet either. Maybe I can get a horse. I will work on it and let you guys know!
.:*Chelsea & Sonnet *:.
But we can’t forget Kudos - The wonder pony!
I was at Frying Pan last weekend - they’ve worked on the XC course, and it looks GREAT! I wish my guys were ready for Prelim. I’m so excited! Perfect timing to get both Artie and Allie the schooling they (desperately) need.
ETBW & Fairweather, depending on the mare’s trailer issues, and Mr. artienallie’s early morning issues I should be able to get there in time to meet you all around 9 or so.
Where specifically are we meeting at the park? The PC is meeting that sunday, so you can’t just say “look for the horse trailers”! lol
There are actually quite a few that are even lower than 2’ (logs, zigzag).
And my husband (who can barely canter, let alone jump) had fun riding in and out of both waters.
He will be a busy little bee. My niece will be having her first ever experience with Cross Country jumping and I am certian that Mr. Pockets will have appy opinions about it.
I hope MargaretF will get him to see the error of his ways Should be enjoyable for all concerned (except Pockets!) He has been over quite a lot of natural obstacles on trail, fallen logs, stone walls, creeks and ditches, but the mere hint of formality to the situation and his jaw sets.
Between riding Pockets and watching the others negotiate obstacles (as well as feasting throughout the day) it should be quite a learning experience.
I am really thinking of bringing Wings along, too. He is truly green, just walk/trot and been out on trail a couple of times. He would benefit from being a grandstand for the day.
As we near the end of 2020, I am misty eyed with gratitude over the fabulous people and incredible horses that I have had the privilege to meet, know, hold onto and remain dear friends after all of these years.
Wings is soon to be 23 and going strong with Trixie (who has been on him since he was five) and took him to 2010 Reserve Schooling jumper in the VHSA Associates. Ridden to hounds, galloped on the beach, played at side saddle and is now playing at barn favorite doing mounted archery and hunter paces.
Fairweather flew south but is an ever present and solid friend. Moesha rode this morning (I got from his FB) before work on his lovely new boy, HN73 has a farm far closer to me now and I need to get off my butt and go visit. My niece, Miss Aimee, is a mother, a graduate of UVA Law and working for Montana State protecting natural resources and parks and has a two year old daughter (who I have sent EVERY ONE of the Billy and Blaze Books). LisaMarie8 is nurturing and educating and RIDING and I love following her on FB. Creseida, another whom I keep up with on FB, is teaching young riders not far south of my home. Sarapony, Inverness, Elghund, I have seen in the space of years, especially when I was hospitalized and Sarapony, Trixie and SaddlefitterVA came to see me on missions of mercy. Clive’s Mom has two girls and a new horse (so many of us have new horses either via Fairweather or JleeGriffith) but I haven’t crossed paths with JAGold or ShowJumps in a while. Beach outing in Delaware with Erin, Jleegriffith, Pixiedust and Trixie was a fabulous trip.
Kennett Square has been gone from us too long. If I’ve left someone out of this soppy, 20 years later reminiscence, I apologize, you and the memories are precious to me.
Vale good horses. Phoenix, Romeo, Clive, Billy, Boomer, Markie, Maddie, Ozzie, dearest Pocket Change. Enjoy your retirement Chief and Hektor.
You guys have meant so very much to me for a long time. I truly appreciate your friendship and camaraderie.
I’m still here, and I still have Belle (24 going on 3).Music is gone (earlier this year at 34), but I have a younger horse,Tiara, another Connemara X TB.
I moved, but only across the street.
Aww! Such good times. And I appreciate your friendship as well, Wingsie! <3
The real Cressy is gone (lost her in 2008 to EPM)
I now have Chuck, Sassy, Elsa the Brat and Theodore (aka Napoleon Studmuffin, aka Stinkerbutt)
Wings, I was always either mvoght or SaddleFitterVA here! Snaffles was on another board.
What a blast from the past. I don’t think I came to this very first one, but I was at a subsequent one, or maybe I was there, because I met Inverness, Kennett Square, ETBW, Fairweather sent me a photograph of me jumping one of the fences on Pico!
I had a mind fart and lost screen names but the gorgeous red Pico and Tinkerbelle and Romeo, maybe the November outing? I recall us putting up Maddie’s little screened pavilion because it was drizzly and Kennett Square was there for that one! We brought a picnic table in and set up the card tables on the opposite side with coolers beneath and pots of barbecue. I miss the Infamous RV with a white hot hurt but we couldn’t keep it up, it was a creation of my dad’s and needed more attention than could be given. Synergystic came to one and brought her gorgeous Spice and put me up on him!
So very many wonderful friends made. I appreciate that time and the years since so very much. BB friends near and far, because we included.
Trixie was 16 for a Mosby’s get together not long prior. I remember KS speaking to her and hearing of the pony she leased and KS KNEW EVERYTHING important and, of course, you just come sit here and we will get you rides.
