I’ve followed this saga from the beginning, and while I’m looking forward to eventual closure, I am most expressedly not holding my breath. ( <–open mouth breathing).
I’m wondering, considering how long this has gone on, who would like to go in on a pool on WHEN it will end? Or maybe how??
(a) The check cleared on January 2nd, horse is sold, yeah!!
(b) The future horse owners (maybe) call and request a “few more days” - maybe until Friday (payday?). The saga ticks on.

(d) The check bounces! The OPs friend decides enough is enough, and drivesvdown to get it and discovers in a Twilight Zone kind of twist that the TOWN IS GONE … there’s nothing but a swamp where once stood a busy boarding barn! :eek:
Just some ideas to keep us entertained until the OP can get back with an update.
By the way, I’m still crossing my fingers for (a). Happy endings are always so satisfying. :yes:

e) Buyers decide they want to take said horse to a few shows before deciding they want to buy him. Get half a show season under the horse’s belt and either don’t do as well as they like or horse goes lame. Send horse back, owing seller nothing…lol…

I too am hoping for (a) guessing it will be (b) but being an X-files fan finding the thought of (d) quite intriguing! Besides with (d) we will have further entertainment while Mulder and Scully are called in to investigate.:lol:
