As an alternate Twilight Zone-type ending, the OP’s friend drives down to Florida to pick up the horse, arrives at the address, and finds no boarding barn, just a run-down little house. No one comes to answer the door, and OP’s friend wanders around to the back yard, where she finds a young girl sitting under a tree humming, and playing with her Breyer horses… and one of the Breyers looks JUST LIKE OP’S FRIEND’S HORSE!!!
