My friend and I’s mutal friend broke his leg today (riding accident, of course)- so I’ve even TALKED to my friend today and I STILL DON’T HAVE AN UPDATE.
I will change the title of the thread when I have a real update.

Calls from the emergency room aren’t generally laid back enough to say “OMG! I’M IN THIS REDNECK EMERGENCY ROOM WITH MATT AND HIS HORSE FELL ON HIM AND HIS LEG HAS SWELLED UP TO DOUBLE THE SIZE AND ITS BEEN AN HOUR AND THEY HAVEN’T SEEN HIM YET! WTF?! WHAT DO I DO?! Oh, and has your check cleared yet? COTH is eagerly awaiting an ending to the saga…”
But luckily, Matt is going in for surgery in about an hour and I’ll get a call tonight from my friend to play the real catch up game.

I guess surgery is a valid excuse. But he better not have any complications.

SERIOUSLY, GUYS… ITS NEVER ENDING.
Matt is in surgery now- shouldn’t be a big deal. He’s cranky and the morphine hadn’t kicked in yet and he’s been hungry since 11:30 when it happened, so I’m glad I’m not his parents.
BUT THIS HORSE DRAMA- y’all CALLED it. Trial period has been extended. Remember the drama about asking price? The girl has already come down 2k from her asking prince, which was 1k more than what they originally said they wanted to pay. They had settled on whatever price they were both happy with (x). THEN they called her today and said we’ll give you (x)-$500, right now… but if you give us until the 15th, we’ll pay full price. (She did tell me she had a check in her hand… I guess she lied or they were going to wire it or whatever…) I guess she flew off the handle (I’m surprised she made it this long) and DEMANDED the horse be put on the trailer tomorrow to come back to Western KY. They hemmed and hawed and stuttered and I guess they want to keep him until the 15th to take him to a show- because they can’t buy a horse without seeing how he acts at shows. eye roll Because, “you know, this is a big investment for us, and hes just, really perfect for what she wants, but we just have to be sure because this is a life changing event…”
She made them make a video of the horse and overnight it to her, so she can see how he looks and is going and agreed to the extended trial. (are you KIDDING ME?! That horse would have been on the trailer back to KY so fast their HEADS would have spun if it were me.)
I don’t know if the horse has been vetted yet, I’m SURE once he goes to the show and acts like the rockstar that he is at horse shows, he’s going to get vetted and they’re going to try to run the price down MORE…
I was thinking (hoping) that these people were just inexperienced horse buyers who didn’t know the “rights and wrongs” of horse buying, but now I think they know EXACTLY what they’re doing and are running rings around this poor girl and know that she has no repercussion and can’t even TOUCH them.
I’M SO FRUSTRATED WITH THESE AWFUL PEOPLE. Whats that COTH curse? Are we at that point yet???

I’m stating the obvious, but she needs to put an immediate stop to this bs and get him home pronto…not that it’s any of my business, but you’re friend is kind of starting to piss me off.

Trial period’s over. They want to keep him till the 15th? They want to show him? Tell them his lease fee is $1,000 per week and make sure they have a great insurance policy with the owner listed as benefactor. Otherwise, he is on a truck TOMORROW. He might be a rockstar at shows, but is the kid? Is she going to choke beyond all reason, maybe miss so badly they wreck and both break something? No one likes to think about those things, but they’re possibilities. Poor girl could lose her horse AND end up in a lawsuit. She needs as close to an airtight lease as possible or pony needs to go home.
ETA: Jingles for Matt. What part of his leg did he break? When I broke my femur (of course in the thickest part!) morphine never touched it. Hope he’s pain free soon.
