Perhaps it’s not really finished. Perhaps T1/T2 saw this thread and told epona’s friend that if she wanted to see the sale go through, she (friend) should convince epona that the sale was final so she would call off her COTHdogs. If so, T1/T2 must be very unhappy to find that we haven’t just gone away.
76 more posts to 1500? We aren’t going anywhere.
Besides, this is a good way to let others know what can go on when you deal with the less then honest.
Oh, now there is a good theory.
I’m not sure there is a form, per se. Just that the Florida Dept of Agriculture made it a law that you have to have an agreement in writing if you are acting as dual agent.
Maybe someone has time to see if their website has suggested wording?
hehehe cothdogs. i wanna be a cothdog! heck,i want a pack of cothdogs on my team!
I looked on horseshowspy too and couldn’t find anything. I sure hope that the Things get outed and thrown under the bus one way or another.
I too am waiting for all the tidbits promised by Donkeyman once the sale was complete. Maybe he knows something we don’t and that is why he is being so quiet?
COTHdogs - love it!
Flip This Horse would be a good title too. And it could have a spin-off, Pimp My Horse.
I’m joining the “Thing1/Thing2 had already sold the horse for much more than they paid friend” team.
Dirty (Horse) Laundry!
I love how none of us will let this go…not until we hit 1500 posts…lol
Well…all I know is
I have some long time friends that are both corporate attorney’s that are from Illinois. They Polo in the wnter - him more than her- she does Hunters. Her horse pased away and she had called me for a recomendation for a new horsey for her - preferably oe already in Fla. I said you have to read this thread about misapproprated “property”. And she being the litigator she is could hardly contain herself!
She began watching - the pictures & videos helped. She visited shows. Hmmm - she LIKED the horse. Began hearing stories about how great he was, what a packer, etc. And she and I thought she should approach the seller as a potential buyer - should things go any more sour.
She also wanted to offer her legal services should thy be required. She is a Mom of young adults too, and was smokin’ mad over the blatent screwing the “seller” was getting.
So she went trainer “shopping” and learned many things. Listening when one is suppsed to be “hearing” other things.
As it shakes out - according to her. The contact “up north” was alerted to this thread first. Then it was relayed to FL contact. FL contact was told to tie up the deal immediately or the horse would be picked up on Saturday. Hmmmm - wonder how thy got that idea Buyer according to my source knows nothing of this thread. And Both 1 & 2 are trying to keep it that way - “you know the internet is a dangerous place for children”. ALSO Buyer according to my source got a DEAL on horsey and is pleased as punch! He did not pay 20K for “T” but being the braggart that he is tells everyone that he did. He feels he made a shrewd deal and that he is “the man!”. The story goes “This is my Daughter’s medals horse. I drove a hard bargin from 75K to 20K - seller had to sell.” I guess he thinks he is the new “Trump”.
Liar liar pants on fire!
Anyway my friend was never able to reach seller. But would have picked “T” up Saturday for her if she had wanted it. My Friend - in need of a hunter - would have paid the asking price w/o PPE on Saturday. She liked him that much! Said he was sweet as sugar at the “trainers” barn. I found her another horse - a BIG chestnut mare - named “Rushed to Judgement” - Florida Coth’ers keep an eye out for this pair! Super scopey but very UGLY mare. WB X mare. They are headed to GA in a week or two for a show series there.
That is all I know really. Just that the “trainers” were aware that “seller” situation was being discussed here. They were also aware - probably from my friend’s (and she’ll forgive me because she knows it’s true) nosiness that there was aother very interested party. That the kid is sweet but saddled with a braggart for a Dad who puts a lot of pressure on her to “do well”. That the FL “trainer” is trying to make a name for herself. And that “Donkeyman”(and yes they called him that) was coming for “T” Saturday.
So glad we could entertain them  - if they’d asked us for advice we would have said FINISH THE DANG DEAL BEFORE YOU ALL LOOK ANY MORE FOOLISH - and now, “Don’t you feel stupid, and relieved?!?” Hw hard was that!!! I mean from A - Z and everyone in between - what a bunch of maroons!!!
I’d love to say under the bus with them all - but the kid is the only one who would be really hurt by that and it was not her fault.

HAH! I called that one right on the nose! :D:cool:
Hey. Wait a minute. Does this mean…that this thread was used as a cleverly leveraged baseball bat by the seller from…um… perhaps post #1?
That the kid is sweet but saddled with a braggart for a Dad who puts a lot of pressure on her to “do well”.
Poor kid. At least she has a sweet horse she can love.
Oh, I don’t think the kid would be hurt if the trainers were thrown under the bus. She would probably never know and if, eventually, her trainer’s business was some how handicapped because of being run over by the bus… well the kid might end up with a different (and perhaps better) trainer. At least a trainer who, down the road, may better educate her about the ethical way to do business.
Wow… thanks Woodland!
Too bad your friend could not reach seller–might have had a whole other ending!
I agree-- you can’t really throw them under the bus since they did end up finishing the deal. Don’t want the kid to have any more pressure than it sounds like she already does.
Honestly though, I just hope the horse is happy and well cared for, which it looks like he will be.
I’ve been following this thread since the beginning and now I don’t know what I’m going to do for entertainment!! This has been more addicting than “Lost” I check this thread four or five times a day!
I am SO lost without the saga!! Thanks SO much Woodland for the update, it was a MUCH “needed fix”!!
All I can say is I will not lt my guy go out on trial BECAUSE of this thread!! All I want is a nice dressage schoolmaster, but I have to sell a horse first and living in the armpit of the world, I will probably just go on wanting due to not being willing to LET my guy go out on trial!!
oh well,

I agree, if ever people deserved to be thrown under the bus, run over by the bus and had the bus backed up and driven over them again this mother/daughter duo sure do! The kid would be better off with just about anyone!
I’m thinking that Papa Bear the braggart should have a copy of this thread printed out and left on his chair or somewhere he will find it at the next show. That way he knows that there are many many COTHdogs out here in both the Cyber and the real world who know just how much he paid for “T” and that just naming a number does not make it so - it just makes him look foolish!

I’m speechless.
Speechless.
Wow.
I knew buyer was a big ol’ douche bag(DB)… but… dear sweet LORD.
To tell my friend or not to tell…
I have so many bad things to say, but I don’t think they’re appropriate for our viewing audience.
Oh, and my friend had been dealing with DB directly- not the trainers. The cashier’s check recieved was from DB himself. What a f*cktard.
