GM Clinic at Persimmon Tree Farm

Your questions should be posed to USEF and/or Safe Sport, not me. I’ve told you the response I received from USEF and I expect that USEF is aware of the proper procedure in this instance.

It appears to be a difference in how we are interpreting the violation(s).

GM allegedly violated his Safe Sport ban by instructing possible USEF members at a clinic. Given GM is permanently banned, I don’t know what other actions can be taken against him for his violation. Could he be fined? Probably not since he’s no longer a USEF member.

Which means the only “enforcement” mechanism is the aiding and abetting clause which provides consequences to those who would enable GM to be able to violate his ban (aiding and abetting). CK is entitled to her own investigation of whether such activities occurred. Safe Sport has primary jurisdiction for aiding and abetting.

for the umpteenth time the clinic was NOT A USEF Sanctioned or recognized competition, event, training or clinic - the ban is for USEF sanctioned activities. According to Safe Sports FAQ’s they do not monitor or enforce bans, that is up to the National Governing Bodies. I would think USEF would slap a sanction on Krome if she was in violation as a USEF member to have a Safe Sport banned person do a clinic. I don’t care how long a friendship goes back, I don’t know that I’d put my reputation or my son’s career on the line over a GM clinic

For the umpteeth time banned people are not allowed to coach USEF members. Aiding and abetting. The rules have been posted in this thread. Keep on supporting sexual offenders.

It’s like the 9 pages prior don’t exist for some people?!

For the umpteenth time, many of us disagree with your interpretation. The SafeSport code, which I linked and provided a photo of several post ago, states that Aiding and Abetting includes “Allowing any person who has been identified as suspended or otherwise ineligible by the Center to coach or instruct Participants.”

It doesn’t say to coach or instruct at sanctioned activities. It only says to coach or instruct participants (i.e. members). Period.

We can argue until we’re all blue in the face. It doesn’t mean squat until the governing body clarifies. I am curiously waiting to see what SafeSport does in the coming weeks with this.

It’s incredible

You wouldnt think this would be so difficult to wrap your head around, but here we are.

I kind of expect that our national federation will end up receiving a suspension not unlike the current UAE suspension for horse welfare.

but hilariously the people who break the rules wont stop, because they’re 99% hunter people who could care less about international competitions, which they’ve explicitly stated time and time again with their anti drug rule enforcement and anti safe sport screeds.

Exactly. I really don’t know why hunter people don’t just split. It’s not like they are relevant on the international stage. People don’t need to ride hunters/Eq to get to the jumpers. Shockingly enough they could perhaps learn solid eq as beginners and go straight to the jumpers. I wOnDeR If tHaTs a ThInG?

I tried to respond again on the wording of the aiding and abetting clause and it’s unapproved. Maybe it will show up.

It will be interesting to see what happens (that is, if the clinic did take place).

I believe they would still be under the safe sport rules, as those have expanded to include organizations that operate interstate competitions and the like, but at least they could have whatever mandatory doping rules they wanted, and when they were shut down due to violating the anti-paedo rule, it wouldnt impact our national federation athletes’ ability to compete at fei events, or our entire country’s ability to host said events.

Exactly my point. A non relevant discipline could potentially stop the US from having a team. It’s stupid. They are also the only ones freaking out over it. Start your own club!

I would say that having differences in interpreting the rules / policies of safe sport isn’t remaining ignorant.

It applies to any national orgs, so yes they would, but there are loopholes they could use to avoid it. Or, they could just ignore safesport. It’s not like they could really punish them if they said they wouldn’t follow it.
Of course, show venues would have a cow if hunters left and started something else. They would have to run hunters and jumpers separately

I think some people are misinterpreting or ignoring the rules, rather than interpreting them “differently”.

.

Shockingly enough plenty of GP riders came up thru the equitation ranks, For example, Medal Maclay winners - Lillie Keenan, Jessica Springsteen, Katie Monahan Prudent, Conrad Holmfeld, Leslie Howard, Brianne Goutal., Kent Farrington, Mark Leone etc…

For the record I’m not ignoring the rules… and maybe I am misinterpreting and if it turns out I am I will be the first to admit it. I will happily share the info I receive from USEF and eat crow if my interpretation (along with few others on here) are incorrect.

You, and the people that are advertising clinics that feature George Morris, who has been banned for life by Safe Sport (and thus by USEF) for sexual abuse of minors, may be having “differences in interpreting the rules”.

If you can’t understand the rules you can email USEF and Safe Sport and ask and If you can’t be bothered, It’s called “willful ignorance” at this point in time. Believe me, no one else is struggling to understand the rules.

I’m perfectly aware of the reasons for his ban. I’m NOT a member of the “I stand with George” club. I understand the rules, the question I have is if those rules apply outside USEF sanctioned events. Most of you yes absolutely, I’m seeing a little grey area there.

Was George at Aachen this weekend?:lol::lol: man this guy, what a blight.
