This topic has veerrreed from GM being a bully - crest release; if you jumping a small jump, if you don’t have good balance or a strong leg to accompany that balance you shouldn’t do an auto.

Auto and crest releases have their place - top riders use a crest and it works; sometimes they use an auto.

The bottom line is “adjustability”! Which is clearly displayed in this thread that many are not prepared. :lol:

when I first learned to ride, I had some backwoods riding instructors who could have yelled, bullied, insulted and cursed GM all across the arena and into next week.

I think pretty much everyone would agree there are four or five finals: Talent Search, USEF Medal, ASPCA Maclay (one name, no comma) and the Washington.

As far as this thread goes, now that GM has announced his plans to retire as the Team’s coach, I think we should make this thing g the distance, in memory of his service to the team. And lastly, does anyone think he actually reads this forum? or cares??? because if I had his list of accomplishments behind me, I sure wouldn’t
