Teenagers stole three horses from an owner in Texas. Two of the horses died after being hit by a car, and the third horse was injured. Just horrible.
Please help if you like.

Can we verify this is for real & that Mr Gooch will receive the donations?
If so, I’m in for a dribble
I am in correspondence with Jackie. It is legit.
Thanks, dribble will follow after my Eagle lands on 4/1
Believe me, I was skeptical at first, hence my grilling her. Definitely not a con artist.
I also emailed Jackie asking how interested Mr Gooch was getting back into horses. She replied within a day.
I am in after payday.
Is she in contact with him?
I think he’d be pleased to know a United Nations of horsepeople (COTH ) is rallying around him.
I did not mention the United Nations of Horsepeople and how we are rallying behind him.
Its easy to message via the Go Fund Me link, I did not have to make an account or anything.
When I send my dribble, I’ll let them know the Jingle Power of COTH is with them
Sent a dribble.
I just heard from Jackie. She spoke to Gooch yesterday. He is very depressed, worried about the filly’s stifle. But appreciative of our goodwill.
Spoke with Jackie. She is having dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Gooch on May 26. She’ll gift the money at that time. (Feel free to contact her via the donation link). No local updates on the teens but otherwise a nice outcome due to the collective spirit of COTH and others.
Thank you so much for the update. I wish Mr and Mrs Gooch the best.
Was there any word on the condition of the filly?
None yet. I will update when I know.
Sad update about the filly.
Filly went back to Lone Star Vet clinic a month after the accident. Dr Gilcrist x-rays her right stifle. She has a joint injury and is worse now than when first injured. Dr. Gilchrist suggested turning her out to recover from the injury. She is done for racing, maybe breed her next year. She takes half strides with that leg and holds the leg off the ground at times
I believe the spelling of his name is Gilchrist , we have used him several times for second opinions, he is a good vet who knows what he doing and can see things others overlook
here is his bio
Dr. David Gilchrist is a 2006 graduate of the University College Dublin, Ireland College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, he began his internship with Lone Star Park Equine Hospital. He continued to work with LSPEH after his internship as an associate until December 2008. During his time at our hospital, Dr. Gilchrist received accreditation through the AVMA and obtained his D.V.M. status.
After working in Ireland in 2009, Dr. Gilchrist returned to LSPEH as an associate in January 2010 to help us provide ambulatory services/farm calls for the greater DFW area while continuing to see appointments at LSPEH as well. Dr. Gilchrist rode show jumpers in Ireland from an early age and from this experience has a great interest in equine sports medicine and lameness.

Thanks for the update, as sad as it is.
I hope she can recover soon to be comfortable and have a nice life with some cute babies.
A refresher on the incident.
Columbus, OH – A GoFundMe has been established for Standardbred owner-trainer-driver Lorenza Gooch, who resides in Missouri City, TX and had two of his three horses killed after being stolen on March 14.
According to a story on the Fox 4 TV (Dallas, TX) website, “A 14-year-old and two stolen horses were killed after being hit by a vehicle on Great Trinity Forest Way near Interstate 45” in Dallas.
“Investigators determined three juveniles were struck while riding three horses that were stolen” from Gooch, who told the Fox 4 “the horses that died were a 2-year-old pacing filly named Belly Wind Me Up and a 6-year-old gelding named Waco Sassy Kid.”
Gooch, who races in Iowa and Minnesota also said “the third horse, Logo Winner, survived, but was injured. She was taken to the Lone Star Equine Hospital.”
According to Jackie Grossman, who started the GoFundMe, Gooch “now is considering quitting the horse business.”
Gooch can be reached by phone at 214.293.9965.
