Goodbye, sweet Dublin (update p. 25, Dublin has crossed the bridge; update for details on funeral on page 32.)

Dave, I am so sorry. I don’t know what else to say except that Dee Dee will be sorely missed by all.

Oh, I wish I’d followed this thread more. I can’t believe it. It is too awful. I, like Louise, am still hoping for a miracle.

The truth is you could slit my throat, and with my one last
gasping breath I’d apologize for bleeding on your shirt.

I’m glad that David printed this thread for DeeDee’s family. At a time like this, going to the internet and looking at a bb might not have been a priority for him. I was hoping to print it and send it to him so that in dark times he could rejoice and find comfort in the number of people DeeDee touched.

Coreene, I echo the sentiment that the paraphrase of the “Diana” eulogy are very much appropriate.

Prayers for your family. I don’t know what else to say.

Praying extra hard today Dublin. Hang in there and know that we’re all here for you and cheering for you.

As I was leaving at 6:00 a.m this morning to drive to work, I was sending up a prayer for Dublin, thinking of her husband and what a great thing they have. As soon as I switched on the radio, my favorite song came on, “To Where You Are” by Josh Groban. The lyrics are incredible:

Who can say for certain
Maybe you’re still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You’re still an inspiration
Can it be
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me
From up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn’t faith believing
All power can’t be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'Cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above
And I believe that angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

I know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Raising a glass to Dublin and her husband tonight.

Dearest Dublin,

After you ride all the fancy horses, could you find Dusty, a foundation style buckskin QH? He has big golden dapples, four white socks, a star strip & snip, black hocks, knees and ergots on his coronet bands. Even white frosting on his mane & tail. He wasn’t show ring fancy, but he was the best first horse any girl could have ever had.

My sin was not appreciating him for what he was because I was blinded by envy of the sleek bay and chestnut TBs everyone else was riding.

Please tell him I loved him and his picture hangs over my desk. Of all the horses I’ve ridden and will see in the meadows by the Bridge, it is Dusty I want to carry me over.

for David:
May the Lord bless you and keep you
May the Lord shine His face upon you
and be gracious unto you
May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you
and give you peace

and for Dublin

I’ll sing on
I’ll sing on
and when from Death I’m free
I will sing”

by Kenny Rogers

It’s just her and the band and the clean up man
She’s countin’ up her tips, she did alright
She says goodnight
She drives home to a three room flat
Checks her machine and she feeds the cat
She’s almost asleep
Before she turns out the light

In her dreams, she rides wild horses
And they carry her away on the wind
And they never make a sound
As they fly above the ground
Tonight she rides wild horses again

She’s fallen in love a time or two
Somehow it always fell through - but she’s strong
She carries on
Her life ain’t always gonna be this way
She knows she’s gonna shine someday
But for now
She’ll escape until the dawn

In her dreams, she rides wild horses
And they carry her away on the wind
And they never make a sound
As they fly above the ground
Tonight she rides wild horses again

In her dreams, she rides wild horses
And they carry her away on the wind
And they never make a sound
As they fly above the ground
Tonight she rides wild horses again

In her dreams, she rides wild horses
And they carry her away on the wind
And they never make a sound
As they fly above the ground
Tonight she rides wild horses again
In her dreams, she rides wild horses <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I posted this once before on this thread. I wanted to post it again because I think it is so beautiful.

Ride, Dublin. Ride in a straight line from Earth to Heaven.

Count me in as well, what a wonderful idea!

Goodbye Dublin, may you rest in peace and spend eternity riding through the beautiful fields in heaven.

This is so heartbreaking. I never met Dublin in person, but she was one who welcomed me to the boards. She always had great advice. My prayers are with you and your family.

Count me in for the ad as well, or a donation to her favorite charity if the ad’s paid for.

I know I have not been much of a poster and haven’t posted once on this topic, but I have been fallowing it very closely and I found Dee to be such a great board person. She will be greatly miss by sooo many. I am at ease knowing her long fight is over and she can now join the love of my life who died in oct, and my best friend who died this past week. Watch over each other, and gods speed to you…

That’s a great idea Bumpkin. I’d certainly chip in for that.

I’m at a loss for words.

Hugs to our Dublin and her beloved David, and their loving family.

I met Dublin and Mr. Dublin last year at Cheval…she was so nice and kind. We emailed back and forth about the potential for her to start riding again. I had no idea she had been sick, and she certainly never brought it up. What a courageous woman - it is evidenced by this outpouring that she is truly loved.
