Goodtimes (the stallion)

Lauren - thanks for the feedback on the Dutch Times colt.

And to everyone for the insight about the height that Good Times produces. As a smaller AA rider, who’s always scoping out what my next dressage prospect may be, it’s very interesting to me that he doesn’t pass on much as far as height goes, but does pass on quality gaits, ridability and temperment. A very good combo in my book! I’ll have to keep an eye out for more of his babies in the future.

Thanks everyone!

My trainer rides a Goodtimes gelding and all I can say is WOW. Ultra-quick hind leg and super floaty.

Edit: I just read back over the thread and this is the same horse Schiffon is talking about. Thanks for the info on his temperment!

Goodtimes son

Hi Leah A, your boy is absolutely gorgeous! I think he is very similr in type to my sister’s mare Wildcard…you can see her at www.Sportingchancefarm.com

What do you think?? lauren

I thought I’d chime in with mine…

And I’ve got a Goodtimes too - 4 y.o. mare out of Karin’s Wanroij mare Jolie. I bought her as my next dressage horse, but I think she wants to jump, and a couple of serious upper-level eventing trainers like her a lot for that. She’s not going to be tall (I think she’ll probably end at 16-1), but she’s very smart, learns fast, wants to please. She does have a high opinion of herself, though - she looked at one particular working student like she was her waitress…

I agree! The type looks to be very similar…Goodtimes seems quite prepotent in producing this type. Wildcard is a spectacular mare. Zoticus’ owner went to DAD to watch his maternal brother (Adesco C) compete and came back also raving about the Goodtimes mare she saw there. Guess who the Goodtimes mare was??? LOL.

Goodtimes babies

I think as a turning three year old, Good as Gold also has a similar type to your boy and Wildcard as well, the shorter, strong topline, very correct conformation, beautiful head, and the movement with the very active hindleg and excellent uphill gaits…you can pick them out of the crowd by their movement and looks! There are pics of my three Goodtimes foals on my website if you would like to take a look…check out the similarities between Good as Gold, Good to be Queen, and Dutch Times and I am hoping for the exact same foal in a gold coat in the 209 model! www.Goldhopefarm.com

Bumping this. Is there still frozen available for this guy?

Anyone know the price?

I now several people who have used him/had foals from him the last few years so I know the semen was available at that point. Majestic Gaits has his listed for this year @ $500/dose.

Thank you!

One of the nicest horses Ive ever ridden was a mare by him. Giant, but incredibly generous

Another happy Goodtimes-progeny owner!

I have a 2000 Goodtimes gelding. Originally imported as a dressage horse, we think, but more happy as a hunter.

He’s stunning, super fancy with lots of chrome, 17.2hh, and has a wonderfully engaging (goofy) personality. He’s the most elastic horse in the world, he’s like Gumby, he can scratch any part of his body with any other part of his body:)

He packs my timid self around like an old soul, but can find a more forward & fluid pace easily for my trainer. Loves to jump, and hawks his fences like nothing you’ve ever seen. Safe, safe, safe. Never reacts badly to a rider mistake. Never retaliates, ever. Auto-changes.

Backs out of the trailer and goes right to work at the shows. If I bring my ‘A’ game he is unbeatable. If I am my usual nervous wreck self we still ribbon; He is that good.

He’s actually from VDL, as far as I can tell, out of a mare named Hivette. I would give anything to see a picture of him as a baby!

From what cyber-sleuthing I’ve done I think he has a full sister in the EU somewhere. I would dearly love to see pictures of her as well.

This horse is one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I am beyond lucky to have him.
