Nerves of steel, Charlotte, to just ride past such a large mistake so early in the test. A lesson for us all!
Very nice thank you message vinyridge!
83.025. She got a lower score than Werth.
I am so glad we are not getting shut out of the medals across all of the equestrian like we were in London!

There is some real BS judging going on with Valegro–scores from 5 to 9?? German judge seems to be scoring him very low.[/QUOTE]
I wonder if they’re hes’ being judged a little more harsly because we’ve seen seen him be so freaking awesome in the past. The judging always seems to be more generous toward the Germans.
I can’t wait to see Laura and Diddy in the Freestyle. They just keep getting better.
Laura and Verdades really deserve the best award for today–under the most pressure and they really pulled through.
Oh so stressed but the US did great. Going to take a nap now
I love the German horse just hangin’ with the peeps.
And huge congrats to the Germans and especially to Isabell for her #1 placing today!

From what I saw, it seemed to be certain judges really making the difference. They were giving him the low scores for bobbles, but also only 8’s for really nice stuff when they gave the Germans 9’s and 10’s. Desperados got 8’s and 9’s for a pirouette where he lost the hind leg. You can really see it in things like entry halts. The Germans got really high and everyone else got 7’s and 8’s for the same quality.
It’s not that the Germans aren’t really good, but that you can really see with the video and the scores that for equal quality movements, they always get higher scores.
So much good stuff.
I need to lie down.
Five combinations over 80% today!
1 Isabell Werth / Weihegold OLD 83.711%
2 Charlotte Dujardin / Valegro 83.025%
3 Dorothee Schneider / Showtime FRH 82.619%
4 Kristina Broring-Sprehe / Desperados FRH 81.401%
5 Laura Graves / Verdades 80.644%

Absolutely agree with that. They were just super!
Wish I could see the ceremony!
Diddy is just getting warmed up. I’m hoping the judges like her freestyle.
I missed it. What place did Steffen finish in?
Is anyone else getting worried that NBC isn’t going to show the medal ceremony?
