Groundwork Conditioning and Training- Help!

You and I are thinking along the same lines. However, I think these versions of turning with the outside aids require lots more strength than the shorter, easier “few steps of gentle turn on the haunches” I suggested. Just sayin’ because I trield to tailor my advice to a horse who was quite weak and a rider who might have to do any of this saddleless.

Why throw out some suggestions that will cause either the horse or rider to fail?

Really. A horse who is motor biking around corners and bulging the outside shoulder isn’t suddenly going to obediently leg yield at the canter to fix that problem. There’s a lot between point a and point b.
