2 year old filly.
I’ll play!
Color: A shedding blue roan. All the light hair in the back will shed out and match the front half. My Pali looks like this right now too!
Breed: Color makes me think AQHA-adjacent. The length of her head from ears to muzzle, the shape of her hip, and bit of feathers on her legs makes me think not AQHA-adjacent. I’m not sure!
This should be fun!
I was going to say Nez Perce, but she has a tail; (and I say that with love). I don’t think she is a Knabstrupper, but I could be wrong. Mustang???.. The more I look at her the more I see Knab
She is a blue roan with a leopard blanket
ETA Friesian cross
Paso Fino cross? Lovely, whatever he is!
Almost to me looks like could be of a gaited breed, so maybe spotted saddle or TWH crossed with something else? Or maybe some Paso Fino somewhere in there?
I agree with Paso or gaited.
Gaited, with some Morgan? Is that actually appy spots or blowing out a blue roan coat?
I’d definitely guess gaited. Rocky Mountain? Do they come in blue roan?
Something gaited? Roan.
I’m going to say blue roan and Missouri Fox Trotter.
Could definitely be a MFT (:
Nokota?
going with black extreme rabicano, as the ticking does not go past the girth and I think I see a hint of the white bars on the top of the tail.
I agree on guessing something gaited… the only Mangalarga I have ever personally met was a loud rabicano, so that is my pick.
I’ve never seen a roan (but will happily be proven wrong) shed out with spots. Corn marks from any sort of ding is normal, but unless this horse had a very interesting case of rain rot, this isn’t normal looking for a roan. It doesn’t really look like a normal presentation of LP either. Sometimes the combination of the two do odd things. Though with the frosting on her hocks and mane make me lean towards a frosted roan.
@Paks I’d love to see a picture or two from the front to see if she has inverted Vs on her legs.
Walkaloosa?
Appy with both blue roan and spots (I don’t even know if that’s possible genetically), but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Black roan, aka blue roan. no idea on breed.
My best boy was a POA. His color was: bay roan, blanket, with peacock spots.
I’m just not sure this is an Appy. Not with THAT mane and tail!
Peacock spots in case you are wondering (not my picture, Googled for an image):
This comment gave me a flashback to when I was a kid, my sister and I were prepping for a rally. I remember being jealous of how little prep work (and no braiding) she had to do with her POA. That thing might have had two wisps for a forelock, and certainly had no mane or tail to speak of.
