Does anyone have these and what is your opinion of them? Do you think they work pretty good for a spring shedding out? My senior is super sensitive and just generally the old creaky sometimes achy senior so I thought these would be great for him but I wanted someone’s real opinion first. Tia!
I have them., My horse HATES them. They are just to hard on his skin.
I have a knock-off brand and love them and my horse loves them too. They are great for his itchy spots and I like doing legs and faces with them.
These are amazing! If you are gentle you can use them on every nook and cranny including the legs and around the eyes. I have a pair that are 4 years old and they are still good as new.
Love them. My horses love them too.
Love mine!
Love mine. You can be as rough or as gentle as needed. Even my cats dig them
My “hates-very-single-brush-that-has-ever-touched-her-no-matter-how-soft” absolutely LOVES them to be groomed with, and I can groom her everywhere with them.
Oh I just love mine and the horses do too. They knock off pasture mud faster than any curry. I think the fact that you can curve your hand around any part of the body and control the pressure easily makes them work so well.
5 smile rating! :):):):)
Love mine. Nothing beats them for getting legs cleaned off. After I curry with them, I keep them on to clean out soft finishing brush. I also love that they can just be scrubbed or popped in washing machine to clean. Much easier to clean off than other brushes.
I just bought a pair to fill an order to ‘free shipping’ standards. 😂😂 all the horses except the old pony love them. The old pony is not a fan. He’s definitely a sensitive skin type. I also got a SleakEaze(sp?) and it’s awesome. It’s been very helpful so far this season.
I love mine and they’re great for legs. I even bought a pair for grooming my cats, they work great for that, too. They’ve saved my hands a few times from one of my cats who gets a little wound up while being brushed and has been known to quickly flip around and swipe me with claws.
I love them. I gave a pair to each stable I ride at and they love them too.
The horses I groom get all dreamy eyed when I use them. Occasionally I get a message from the horse to go lighter, but most of them seem to like me really leaning into them with the gloves to get a lot of hair and/or crud (like mud) out of their coats.
They have replaced my curry comb and my shedding blade.
I absolutely love mine, and so does my horse - he makes the most ridiculous faces when I gently scratch INSIDE his ears with them. They are great for shedding, for bathing, for getting nooks and crannies around elbows and legs, for getting hair and dirt off saddle pads before laundering, grooming the dogs… 4 years old and they are going strong.
Not every horse is a big fan, however. One I used to ride (fairly thin skinned TB) objected strenuously. YMMV.
Ok sooo… I need to go buy a few different types of knock off ebay ones tonight then!! Thanks everyone!
My guy absolutely loves them.
I much prefer the Grooming Hands brand, so do my horses. plus they work better - softer, better design, lighter.
I find the Hands On ones to be stiff & very hot in warm weather & they also don’t pull near as much shedding hair as the other ones.
I love them, and my pony loves them. I haven’t met a horse who doesn’t, even my trainer’s super picky hates being groomed boy tolerated them. I love that they are sensitive enough that I can feel when there is a lump that shouldn’t be there. Especially useful for the underside of a small pony. I don’t get down low enough to get eyes on his undersides nearly enough.
One horse hated them (but hated every type of curry, so there’s that), the other doesn’t mind. They work well on the dog.
For thin skin types, I use the grooming blocks or the one with the hacksaw blade in it - you barely have to touch them with the hacksaw blade one and the hair starts falling out.
I will check those out today!
