Four of five Diamond Hit sons presented were licensed, and one was premium! The Totilas/Desperado colt was licensed, but not premium. The Dancier/Rotspon was not licensed. Both Ampere sons were licensed (one was premium). Both De Niro sons were rejected. The “B” line stallions didn’t fare particularly well - of six presented, only two were licensed.

It will be interesting to hear comments from folks that were there in person.

I think it was a great group of stallions…and no I was not there and I do not breed Hanoverian’s (-: But I do tout Diamond Hit whenever I can. Only own one yearling…that I adore… but want to breed many, many more. Tried twice to breed my Hanoverian Londonderry/Weltmeyer mare to Diamond Hit…but I will stupidly try again. And even more exciting, my Licotus/Landadel mare. These DH’s are the horses I want to invest in to take to the upper levels.

Agree with you on the Diamond Hit’s. I wish they could live stream the entire licensing:) It is so hard to make assessments on 30 seconds of video. I like the Floriscount that went Premium. Really nice hind end and super use of his body at the walk…and that color ain’t too bad either…liver chestnut:) Looks like he might mature into a sizeable horse.

Bummer about the Dancier-Rotspon…but Rotspon still represented via the damline of the Totilas stallion!

I’d love some insight into some of these. How much more than what we’re seeing goes into the decision making process? Because I have a Balou du Rouet foal this year I went straight to this son of his:

Based on the (admittedly brief) video I quite like what I see! The trot you can see looks free and elastic and I love his way of going through the chute…very elastic and thinking with a super hind end and an above average front end.

They actually do live stream nearly the whole licensing! It’s on clipmyhorse.de . . you do have to be a member which does cost a membership fee each year but I find it so beneficial. Many dressage and show jumping shows are also broadcast and available in the archives during the year.

It’s really interesting to see the stallion’s behavior with respect to the trotting on hard ground session and also in the free jumping arena. One can get a feel for certain stallions that are more or less confident, have the stallion presence, and how they interact with their handlers.

Boy, I really need to become a member of clipmyhorse…always forget about their services. Thanks!

one of the comments in a couple of posts above this is important – let’s also look at the dam line, not just which stallion sired the colt. Mare contribution is not anything that should be forgotten. That said, significant DeNiro contribution all around, sire and dam lines, with himself, Dancier, Desperados – and even more broadly look at the tremendous representation - top and bottom - of Donnerhall . . . . .

Wish I could have made it over to watch, lots of lovely young stallions!

I am here in Germany and here are some tidbits:

The Totilas colt was whistled at and feet stomped(German version of booing). He was overweight and earthbound. It was a bit surprising when comparing him side by side with the others that he did get licensed.

One of my favorites–and all on this forum know my feelings about “S” blood, was the St Moritz Jr/Don Schufro. Super mechanics, great temperament. Went premium.

An absolute favorite, both mine and the breeders was #88 Fuerstenball/Wie weltmeyer/Prince Thatch xx. WOW. I will be watching this one to probably use him in the near future.

The Diamond Hits as a group were very nice but there was no standout like Doctor Watson from last year.

The #10, a Damsey/Wordly went premium. I can see this fellow going up the levels in performance as well as being a good breeding stallion. Congratulations to the Leatherdales.

Lord Carnaby/Fidertanz, very interesting horse. Mature looking, powerful gaits. I see this one as a performance horse. Licensed

Estobar/Lauriesxx was a very handsome good moving animal.

The Romanov was a bit disappointing to me and I am usually a fan.

The United was a phenomenal moving animal with suspension, and power. A crowd favorite

One sidebar: for the first time in over a decade of attending, the horses behavior was night and day from triangle to indoors. The triangle had the normal amount of 2 yr old antics, but all were relatively well behaved. Inside was another story. Many did not want to enter the jump chute and jumped over and around the whips and fences. One of the premium stallions, a jumper, on the announcement of the premium(no fences in the arena at the time and all by himself with his normal handler)hit his handler who required emergency care in the arena and was taken to the hospital.

I will update later today after the auction. Should be very interesting with the inclusion of outside registry horses for the first time.

There was also live stream on Hannoveraner.com for free.

I am hoiping that 41 goes to Celle. Good ol blodlines combined with something modern resultetd in a well moving, loose. elastic and very pretty jumper. A very very good overall package !

I really liked that St. Mortiz Junior / Don Schufro colt from his video!

I would love to see video of the Fürstenball / Wie Weltmeyer. For some reason, there was no video of him on the körung site or your tube.

Interesting side note: the dam of the Fürstenball / Wie Weltmeyer is also the dam of St. Mortiz Junior.

And I wondered how that Totilas colt would fare. I thought he looked okay in his video, but I wasn’t particularly overwhelmed by him.

What did everyone think of the walk on the United colt?

Which walk ?

The Fürstenball / Wie Weltmeyer is not for sale, hence no marketing by the Verband.

the totalis looked very sickled hocked on the live stream - I was surprised he was licensed also. But I’m sure the Hanoverians wanted to be the “first” to license a Totalis son. The Westfalens have a really good one in their licensing group for next month. But the politics are always in play!

Why was the Brentano II not licensed? Do they explain? From the videos he looked quite lovely.

I have been trying to get some info on St Motitz Jr for some time now. Does anyone have any info on him?

Longer videos of the Totilas son: http://www.topdressage.tv/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=190&t=7483

St. Moritz Junior was stationed at Gestüt WM and I have heard rumours he is/was in the US.

They do not explain anything why a stallion is licensed or not.

The prices I posted are of the premium stallions. I am not at Verden, but got them send. So no guarantee they are fully correct.
I heard that Blue Hors bought both most expanive ones. Böckmann the Diamond Hit - Lauries. And that Stud Bonhomme bought something.
The other party involved in the bidders duel was Haras de Hus of France.

Londonderry is Hanoverian stallion of the year.
