Did you really say that? Um, you might want to actually study history because this sport was not created in the US and slavery in Europe was abolished long before the US existed.
This sport was developed by the military to create military cavalry units. The hunters were created by farmers hunting predators. Let’s start there.
Your support of this book and your responses here show a lack of education/understanding of both the sport’s history and history in general.
Lol. Silly me, I was hoping for an expose on how property developers took over the USEF in order to sell marginal ag land at inflated prices to trust funders whilst putting much-loved traditional venues out of business.
Assume OP wrote this book? Isn’t that against some very obvious rule they can be banned for @Moderator_1
Not sure I’m convinced it’s the author. Said author and I have only one mutual on FB (and that’s on both the profiles I’ve found for them). But the names OP is throwing about on her other thread lead me to believe we’d likely have more than that.
But more importantly, this author and I have one mutual. Could they be involved in something other than HJ? Sure, but a google of name + “horse” is devoid of any industry involvement.
This person likes horses and hates black people. That’s it. That’s the qualifications upon which she’s based her words.
I was just thinking that this sounds like the h/j edition of the Maestro’s tome.
Perhaps we should start a book club similar to that one, where we buy a copy and send it around for comments.
I just want to be cool and post on a thread before it gets shut down because I always miss the trainwrecks.
OP, you are going to make “Judy” really mad at you for exposing her has an elitist, racist, stepford wife, white woman who does not want to compete against BIPOC and LGBTQIA in the hunter ring.
Oh darling. Just because you had the money to turn what is already a sport into your official & exclusive playground with special silver trophies does not mean you get origin credit.
Well, Megan has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Texas Southern, and as of last year, her net worth was about $30 million. I’d say she can pretty much do whatever she wants.
I’m sure she’s more educated than the author of this book, at any rate. Beyond that, the lyrics of her music really have nothing to do with the argument at hand . . . whatever that argument is.
Actually . . . no . . . as others have pointed out, this sport (whichever one you’re talking about - showjumping? Eventing? H/J? Dressage? - were mostly begun by the military as a way to train horses for the battlefield.
You know, the number one rule of writing a book is ‘do your research.’ I think you skipped that rule.
There seems to be only one person on FB promoting this book, and that person does have a number of industry names on their friends list. Coincidentally.
Yeah, that was a whole “BUT OF COURSE” moment when I saw who was pushing it
So, I guess we have two mutuals because the one mutual we have on each of the (found) profiles is different, and on one of them it is said water carrier.
I don’t feel the need to comment on most of this thread.
But I will just chime in to say that I met a person working at a horse show last week who probably would not have been there without DEI efforts from the USEF.
And the person did a good job, which to my mind is the most important thing.
Methinks “Judy” didn’t make it in legitimate journalism because she’s a shite writer who cannot research or distinguish between fact and opinion. DEI and “political correctness” had nothing to do with it.
